We’re two days into New York Fashion Week and it’s already the most exciting season yet. With everyone who’s anyone turning up on the FROW, Sarah Jessica Parker’s first designer collaboration and too many items added to our lust list to mention, here’s your first look at the most fabulous week on the NY schedule.
Kanye West x Adidas
Where do we start? A-listers came from all around to see Kanye West’s first collab with Adidas walk down the runway. Possibly the most celeb-filled FROW we’ve ever seen, everyone from Beyonce, Jay Z and P Diddy to Rihanna, Justin Bieber and new face of Topshop Hailey Baldwin came to check out Kanye’s collaborative debut. The biggest surprise of all? Queen of chic Anna Wintour sat pride of place with new BFF and VOGUE cover star Kim Kardashian to show her support. Commiserations go out to Justin Bieber who, with all these major celebs turning up, was relegated to the second row. Ouch.
With so much A list action it’s easy to forget this was a fashion show. Storming a khaki army down the runway, Kanye presented an epic if not life-changing collection of uber cool minimal sportswear. Our favourite moment? Jenner clan baby Kylie storming the catwalk for her fashion week debut. Who knew nude bodystockings were in?
Tome x SJP
The second hottest fashion collab to hit NYFW, Sarah Jessica Parker teamed up with super buzzy NY designers Tome for their AW15 collection. Nailing the coveted spot of SJP’s first ever design collaboration, Tome took her self-named shoe brand down the runway. Sky-high stilettos with Tome’s signature stripe down the back adorned models’ feet whilst SJP sported the heels herself, rocking khaki courts for the collection’s debut.
Easily our favourite show of NYFW so far, Coach’s AW15 collection was seriously wintery and majorly cosy. Back with their signature use of tan and black leather combined with fluffy shearling, Coach proved once again that when it comes to wearable warmth, they know what they’re doing. Set on an elevated train track surrounded by snow covered hills, the concept was city girl in the country. Think New York meets the ol’ US outback and you’re somewhere close. Working a major American girl vibe, leather jackets were emblazoned with US flags and skull-shaped studs worthy of a highway motorcycle bar. And the shearling was everywhere. We can’t get enough of the shearling-lined boots models stomped down the runway. We know what we’re adding to our cold-weather lust list.

Polo Ralph Lauren AW15 Presentation
If you weren’t at Kanye West’s celeb-packed show then Polo Ralph Lauren’s AW15 presentation was the place to be. Checking out the latest collection from the US design powerhouse were actress Emma Roberts, Ciara, Gigi Hadid’s cool kid younger sister, Bella Hadid, and officially the most beautiful man in the world, Tyson Beckford. Stepping away from the dayglo brights of last season, Polo Ralph Lauren went back to its roots with a traditional collection full of tartan carry-alls, tweed coats and double breasted blazers. But it wasn’t all country gentry and leather armchair. Pops of lime green and fuchsia brought pieces bang up to date and hit the brand’s signature youthful spirit. Possibly the most wearable collection of NYFW so far, we NEED those suede clog boots in our lives right now.
Carrie Hammer’s Real Women
Taking the rule book and tearing it up, designer Carrie Hammer sent actual real women down her runway instead of models. Tagging her pics with #rolemodelsnotrunwaymodels the designer chose to show her latest collection on women of all shapes, ages and sizes. A high fashion collection designed to fit all women instead of just size 8 models? Now, that’s a message we can get on board with. Go girl!
