Sun, music and some proper pampering, what more could we need? It’s safe to say we had an amazing time at Bestival 2012.
Getting us rocking on the Friday night was the always-stunning Florence Welch. The perfect Friday night headliner, Flo styled this year’s fancy dress theme, Wildlife, onstage in a long green dress with ivy in her hair. Florence And The Machine got the entire field dancing to Dog Days Are Over and Drumming Song, as Flo skipped across the stage looking as gorgeous as ever.
Also doing it for the girls was the gorgeously soulful Emeli Sande. The Professor Green and Wiley collaborator has written for Cheryl Cole, Leona Lewis and Tinie Tempah, but she proved that all we needed was her onstage for the perfect start to our festival weekend. The Brits Critic Choice Award winner performed hits from her debut album Our Version Of Events in a frilled tan jacket and tie dye tee, while styling her trademark choppy blonde locks. We love your festival style Emeli!
It wasn’t just the music on the bill that caught our eye. Benefit invited us over to their Glamazonia pamper palace tucked away in the Magic Meadow, where their head make-up and trend artist Lisa Potter-Dixon gave us an A-list festival look. She’d just got back from getting Bat For Lashes ready to hit the Main Stage, well if it’s good enough for the stars…
Not being the biggest camping experts, we jumped at the chance to try the Vango AirBeam Flux 200, the perfect tent for festival-goers who want their home for the weekend up in a flash. The poles are inflatable so all we had to do was pump them up and then the tent was ready, complete with our super-cosy Kahtmandu Nomadic sleeping bags! If Florence Welch was camping, she’d do it in style too.
Closing Bestival on the Sunday night was the highlight of the weekend, Stevie Wonder, who got the entire field singing along to his hits Superstition, I Just Called To Say I Love You and I Wish. With glowsticks and confetti thrown out into the crowd and fireworks to end the night, our Bestival 2012 ended in a bang! AT
