Johnny Depp Returns As Mad Hatter In New Alice Trailer

Curioser and curiouser. Isn’t that how it goes?

Alice fans rejoice because guess what, the new trailer for Alice Through The Looking Glass is finally here, and it’s safe to say that we’re pretty excited about it!

Starring Mia Wasikowska as the intrepid blonde adventurer, Alice Through The Looking Glass is the hotly anticipated sequel to 2010 Tim Burton blockbuster Alice in Wonderland, which saw the teenage Alice return to Underland – a magical world that she first encounters as a child. Whereas her mission in the first movie was to slay the Jabberwocky and overthrow Helena Bonham-Carter’s evil Queen of Hearts, her return to Underland for the second time is to save her magical pal the Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp), and thwart an evil plot to put the Queen of Hearts back on the throne.

The 2016 Walt Disney film reunites original cast members and introduces some new faces, including Rhys Ifans as the Mad Hatter’s father, and Sacha Baron Cohen as Time himself. And even though Tim Burton has taken a step back from the directors chair this time round, his successor James Bobin directed 2011’s smash hit The Muppets movie, so you can rest assured that the new Alice flick will be just as spectacular as the first.

Alice in Wonderland broke box office records back in 2010 (it took more than $1 billion worldwide, crikey), and launched Disney’s foray into live-action movie adventures. And judging from the trailer, it’s looking like Alice Through The Looking Glass is going to try and beat this…and then some.

Colourful, magnificent and well…more than a little odd (Tim Burton is producing, it was always going to have his trademark weirdness right?), the trailer is ticking ALL of our fantasy boxes right now. Roll on 2016….
