Felicity Jones Just Rocked The ’70s Trend In A Major Way

Unless you’ve been on a fashion hiatus for the last few months, you may have noticed that the biggest trend since, well ever, is all about the decade of flares, wallpaper prints and suede everything, all wrapped up in plenty of pussybows. It’s literally impossible to escape the ’70s this season, and we’ve already witnessed hoards of A-listers showing off their take on the trend. But it seems we may have a contender for our new favourite look, courtesy of the one woman, red carpet machine that is Felicity Jones.

Attending the annual Art Directors Guild Excellence In Production Design Awards in LA, the actress chose an Erdem Pre-Fall 2015 chiffon floral maxi, complete with long sleeves and a pussybow neckline. We’re pretty sure we’ve just discovered our latest obsession. While we’ve been preoccupied with blouses and all those flares, Felicity’s frock feels like a fresh interpretation of SS15’s favourite silhouette. Which shouldn’t really come as a huge surprise, given that The Theory Of Everything star has been on top of her fashion game recently, adorned in everything from Dior couture to Valentino and Osman.

And guess what? As a Monday morning treat, we’ve found a suitably retro-inspired printed maxi with a pretty bow to rival Felicity’s. With long sleeves and side slits, this Alice & You beauty is available at House Of Fraser, and for less than £50. We’ll be wearing ours for day with ankle boots and tights- a perfect solution for the freezing temperatures we’re currently enduring. You could even layer your cosiest knit over the top, making sure your pussybow can peep out from underneath.

Our other favourite thing about this printed dress is that only the most minimal of accessories are required. With the frock a statement in itself, you can keep jewellery simple, just like Felicity in her Erdem number. Think we’ll be giving the flares a rest for a while, we’re all about the pussybow maxi now…
