Beyoncé’s Waist-Length Braids Give A Nod To The ’90s

Beyoncé debuted her brand new waist-length braids while out and about in New York with hubby Jay Z last week, and now she’s offered us a closer look at her cornrowed ‘do on Instagram.

Posing in a plain black vest with zero make-up (yet magically flawless skin, *sigh*), the Grown Woman singer pulled her best punchy pout as her thick head of dip-dyed braids fell neatly down one shoulder.

It’s definitely different – but ’90s cornrows are making a comeback, with Rita Ora also working the mutli-plait revival with her own wet look braids last month.

Bey’s Rapunzel makeover will no doubt divide opinion, but what do the experts think?

‘I love it!’, celebrity hair stylist George Northwood told The Telegraph. ‘The texture always looks great and I love what she does with the colour with the roots. It always looks really natural even though it’s super long and that’s because of the natural texture and it never looks too thick or thin.’

Being one of the biggest hair chameleons in showbiz, we’re predicting that Bey’s Rapunzel locks won’t be around for long anyway. But surely self-washing braids are the perfect no fuss festival ‘do?
