And it doesn’t stop there. We know few celebrities who look better on the beach than Michelle, so who better to offer up her top holiday beauty tips than our favourite Lipsy designer? From what to pack for the beach to how to pick the perfect bikini, Michelle’s got it sorted.

You’ll be looking perfectly preened and beach-ready in no time… Over to you, Ms K!

Hi Michelle! So, what are your top beach beauty tips?

I would say the number one is to use a high SPF on your face – its so important especially as you get older as sun damage can begin to show. Obviously you need to wear it all over your body too! If I know im going on holiday I always get gel nails put on as my nail varnish chips really quickly and it stays nice all holiday if you have gel polish on.. I love a bright colour like a sky blue or neon pink but a French manicure is timeless and always looks goo,d especially on your toes!

What about your holiday make-up/skin essentials?

For my hair I always use Philip Kingsley leave in conditioner when I am at the beach, and I adore the Kerastase Masquintense to stop my hair drying out in the hot weather. To style my hair I swear by my new Cloud 9 waving wand – It isn’t the cheapest hair tool but it is by far the best at creating soft waves and volume. In terms of beauty products I love – I have to say I love Origins. The Dr Weil brightening serum is amazing for my skin and feels lovely and velvety when I put it on. I also use their Dr Weil Skin Treatment Illuminating lotion and the Deep Cleanser Face wash with White Tea in it.

Describe the typical contents of your beach bag…

My beach bag is usually very large to carry a lot of stuff! A big colourful beach towel, wet wipes, a hairbrush (I love my Beauty Works soft bristle brush) my mobile phone, Kiehls lip balm, Factor 50 or 30 sunscreen for my face and a factor 10/15 for my body, depending on where I am sunbathing and what time of year it is.

And what do you pack to stay looking stylish on the beach?

I always pack a gorgeous kimono so that I can cover up if I need to – and love the Black Fringe Kimono (£45) from my range at Lipsy because its so versatile. I also pack a big banana clip or hair bobbles to keep my hair off my face and a good magazine to read by the pool… LOOK of course!

How do you prepare your body before you get into a bikini?

If I know I am going away I will get my armpits waxed and shave my legs, and exfoliate lots to get rid of the any dead skin. I will also ask my cousin Katie to give me some great gel nails to last for the trip! Soap And Glory do a great exfoliation for your face called The Greatest Scrub of All, and I love Origins Modern Friction exfoliator for my body. You also need to moisturise your skin afterwards and Laura Mercier do THE BEST smelling body lotions . I adore the Laura Mercier Crem Brulee body soufflé as it makes you smell like desserts!

How often do you work out and what are your top fitness tips for getting THOSE amazing abs? (We’ve all seen them…!)

I hate the thought of having to go to the gym, but once I’m there I just do a full on hour of cardio and weights and that’s it . If I am in ‘the zone’ and being good then I go around 3-4 times a week, but if I’m honest I tend to go twice a week. I’m a true believer in everything in moderation – I don’t diet, but I guess I don’t tend to eat a lot of stodgey food and my diet isn’t very carb heavy. I downloaded something called the Ab Challenge on YouTube recently –it’s a fast set of excersizes that you can do at home or in the gym. Its only 8 minutes long but they really work!

Bikini shopping can be tough – how do you pick yours when holiday shopping? Any tips for picking the most flattering style/shape?

I always go for bikinis with separate tops and bottoms because I am big on top and need to make sure that they fit me properly. I would always say to pick a colour that suits your skin tone and block colours look better than busy patterns. Tie up sides are also good because they don’t dig into your skin if you have put on a few pounds – you can just re tie them a little looser! Boux Avenue, Melissa Odabash and Vix are my favourites. I always take a kaftan with me too – I’d recommend the black one in my Lipsy Loves Michelle range because it’s great for the beach and for nights out too.
