Meet LFW’s Hottest New Design Talent!

Xiao Li has been named Fashion Scout’s Merit Award Winner for AW14, following in the rather impressive footsteps of David Koma, Eudon Choi, Hermione de Paula and William Tempest, who have all won in the past.

We’re predicting BIG things for this newbie. Her MA collection already bagged her the Diesel Award at the International Talent Support last July and she made her debut at Fashion Scout London as part of the Graduate Showcase in September 2013. Oh, and last week she was named as a finalist for the H&M Design Award. Yep, big things, we tell you…

The China-born, London-based designer studied womenswear at London College of Fashion before going on to do an MA in knitwear at the Royal College of Art, where she developed her beautifully innovative knitwear style, moulding silicone to create the most voluminous, marshmallow-y, oversized pastel pieces that look good enough to eat.

The award means Li gets a fully sponsored show at London Fashion Week this February at the Freemason’s Hall in Covent Garden. We can’t wait to see what’s coming next from this new LFW talent.
