Ellie Goulding and Lorde recently got tongues wagging when they BOTH deleted a picture of them partying with Katy Perry. Why, you say?
Well, in case you had forgotten, Taylor Swift and Katy Perry are not pals. And by not pals, we mean Taylor probably wrote Bad Blood about her, such is the extent of their feud.
So when two of Taylor’s BFFs (Ellie even appeared in the Bad Blood video!) are seen hanging out with the rumoured sworn enemy, it’s obviously going to ruffle a few feathers.
Ellie originally posted a photo of her, Lorde, Katy and a bunch of other gal pals partying at Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood over the weekend, but it was quickly taken down. Did Swifty see and get upset? Did Ellie get worried she’d get in trouble for hanging with the enemy?
Well, someone asked her. And we’re not going to lie, it was kind of awkward.
When a reporter questioned the Love Me Like You Do singer about the mysterious disappearing pictrure, she stuttered and stumbled for a few seconds, before answering:
‘Oh! I deleted that because I looked bad in it. I think I was a bit drunk and I thought it wasn’t a very good example of myself.’
Playing it cool, Ellie continued. ”That’s so funny that that’s even a thing,’ she said. ‘I delete things all the time.’
But the Ode reporter wasn’t giving up that easily. ‘Everyone is saying it’s because you shouldn’t be friends with Katy because of Taylor’, they pushed.

After a short while, Ellie replied: ‘I’m very used to things being made up, so that’s ridiculous. I’m great friends with Katy. I’m great friends with Taylor… That’s very silly. No, I just looked terrible in it.’
Okay Goulding, We’ll take your word for it…
Taylor has never officially opened up about Bad Blood‘s actual subject, and has instead always played coy when talking about Perry.
‘I’m not giving them anything to write about’, she told The Telegraph. ‘I’m not walking up the street with boys. I’m not stumbling out of clubs drunk. But I’m never going to talk about her in my interview. It’s not going to happen.’
She continued: ‘It’s not real if someone appears to never have any issues with anyone. I have my friends. I have enemies. I have bad days… I’m not nice all the time but I try not to be carelessly rude to people who don’t deserve it.’
Well said, Swifty.
