Ellie Goulding Defends THAT X Factor Dress

Ellie Goulding raised pulses and headlines when she performed in a shimmering see-though Julien Macdonald dress on Sunday night’s The X Factor.

Usually comfortable in T-shirts and trainers, the singer stepped up her style for the live performance in a dress that left little to the imagination, and divided her fans and fashion critics.

The golden dress was previously worn by Beyoncé for her ‘Mrs Carter’ tour promo shots and was created by Welsh designer Julien Macdonald, who tweeted: “The gorgeous @elliegoulding looked stunning wearing my dress on the #XFactor last night, amazing performance!”

Just two days later at Tuesday night’s Attitude Awards party, Ellie partied on in a second sheer frock, this time black body-con. Choosing to go braless, she accidentally flashed photographers while heading home in a taxi – oops! Speaking out in her defence, Ellie told the Metro: “I work out every day, go running, I take fitness really seriously. So why not?”

The Burn singer stuck to her styling guns when it came to her X Factor dress choice. “I wanted to go all out with the production and I never usually have backing singers. I’ve taken it up a level. I felt so special and I don’t care what anyone says.”

Ellie, we’d kill for your athletic figure and salute your cool confidence!
