How To Master The Art Of The Double Stripe

Stripes are one of those perennial trends that never really go out of fashion. Take the Breton top for example – a classic piece everyone needs in their wardrobe. This season, stripes are more popular than ever, and there’s a new way to style them. Yep, we’re talking about double stripes.

Pairing prints can be tricky to navigate, and pairing stripes is the trickiest of all.  Get it wrong and your outfit will look comical, but if you get it right this partnership can be both chic and elegant.

Bare these rules in mind and you’ll be along the right lines (pun intended)…

1. Clash Your Stripes

If you’re clashing stripes make sure to vary the width of stripes as opposed to the colour combo. Take your cue from style star Sienna Miller and style a striped shirt with a striped wrap midi.

2. Match Your Stripes

If you don’t clash your stripes, match them. Whatever you do don’t try and go for somewhere in the middle. The striped jacket and wide leg trouser ensemble is a seriously stylish one. Think like Chiara Ferragni and keep the accesories minimal and let the stripes do the talking.

3. Don’t Rule Out Pinstripes

Pinstripes don’t have to just be for the office as Miroslava Duma expertly shows. A pinstripe suit can easily be dressed up for the evenng with the additon of a crop top and killer heels.
