From street stylers to the celeb fash pack, double denim is one of the hottest trends making an appearance each season and spring 2015 is no different. Once joining socks and sandals as the ultimate fashion faux pas, the Canadian tuxedo is officially a trend you need to make work now.
With denim having a serious moment on both the catwalk and the high street right now, there’s no better time to make double denim work. From skirt-and-shirt combos to a dungaree double up, it’s time to join the double denim revolution! Here’s how to do it right, with a little help from the fash pack!
Make It Work With A Skirt:
It’s not all about jeans you know! Kylie Jenner and Olivia Palermo prove that nothing looks chicer this time of year than a denim pencil skirt and matching shirt. Amazing for transitioning into summer, make this look work by tucking in a la Palermo or tying your shirt up as Ms Jenner does. Heels are a must with this look – as these ladies prove – so bring out your favourite statement sandals.
Mix Up Your Shades:
If you don’t want to take the trend on too strongly, then try and mix up the shades of denim you wear for a more subtle approach. We love how Alessandra has chosen a much lighter shirt to avoid the all-in-one look and this street styler has offered up a similar toned-down approach.
Embrace The Western Look:
The double denim combo can have you looking like a serious cowgirl, but don’t be afraid to totally go for this style. Make like Chiara and this street styler by adding a cowboy hat, boots or loads of leather!
Add Bright Accessories:
An all-denim ensemble can sometimes look a little neutral so it helps to add a bright-hued accessory to really make a statement. Layer up with bright tops or slip into a colourful shoe for the ultimate double denim impact.
