1) Kim Kardashian & Kanye West
Kim was treated to the surprise of a lifetime when her rapper boyfriend popped the question on her birthday in front of their entire friends and family at AT&T Park in San Francisco. Kanye roped in a 50-piece orchestra and lit up the stadium’s screen with the words: ‘PLEEEASE MARRY MEEE!!!’ before getting down on one knee with a custom-design Lorraine Schwartz diamond ring. Well, it was never going to be subtle, was it?
Lady Gaga & Taylor Kinney
The Bad Romance singer was presenter with a heart-shaped engagement ring on Valentine’s Day by her now-fiancé Taylor Kinney, and how he described it does sound pretty damn adorable. ‘I just knew. It wasn’t a lightbulb going off, it was in Manhattan. It was snowing, it was beautiful’, he described the momentous event. And of course, he got down on one knee… Naw.

3) Rochelle & Marvin Humes
How could we forget the moment when JLS’ Marvin Humes asked Rochelle to marry him on New Year’s Eve during their exotic holiday to Antigua. After popping the question with a £45,500 heart-shaped ring from London jewellers Boodles, the pair then celebrated with a cheeky champagne toast on Instagram. ‘Its official Marvin proposed 2me 2day,wanted 2 tell u b4 some1 else did! SO excited 2 b Mrs Humes. x’ (sic), wrote the bride-to-be. WHAT a setting…

4) Kate Middleton & Prince William
This royal couple got engaged in the most sophisticated way possible – during a 10-day trip to the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy in Kenya. Kate and Wills were there celebrating him passing his RAF Search and Rescue helicopter course when William decided to get down on one knee. But it was the ring that was the sweetest part of the proposal – slipped onto the Duchess’ finger was an 18-carat sapphire and diamond ring that used to belong to his late mother, Diana. *Sniff*.
5) Michelle Keegan & Mark Wright
Being a romantic through-and-through, it’s no wonder Essex boy Mark Wright made sure his proposal was a night to remember. Picking a beach location at sunset in Dubai, Mark got it spot on. ‘I thought he was joking at first and then he said, “Come here”‘, Michelle explains. ‘I started crying, and said yes, and then he started welling up as well. Then as we walked further down the beach I saw a table set up with lanterns and petals, and with two glasses of champagne.’ How could she say no?
6) Millie Mackintosh & Professor Green
For his proposal, rapper Professor Green took the word ‘intimate’ a step further by reserving an entire restaurant just for him and his bride-to-be. Bless! Choosing Millie’s all-time favourite eatery in Paris itself, Pro even picked the Frost Of London ring himself. Man’s got taste. ‘We were in a restaurant in Paris and it was empty it was just the two of us. It wasn’t in front of a whole dining room’, Millie recalls, adding about her ring: ‘He picked the perfect ring. It’s really classy and just me.’
7) Frankie & Wayne Bridge
Sometimes, the most romantic proposals are the low-key ones. And the way Wayne Bridge did it was unimaginably sweet. The footballer pro asked for girlfriend Frankie’s hand in marriage by taking her to a nice hotel and bringing her beloved pet pooches with them. ‘Wayne took me to a hotel and he got my dogs involve’, Frankie says. ‘I didn’t know my dogs were there and they came in in little bride and groom outfits. And Pixie had the ring around her neck on a ribbon. Then my family came in and surprised us.’ Dogs and romance? It’s all too much!
