Cheryl’s Throwback Locks Hold A Very Special Meaning…

Cheryl Fernandez-Versini went all nostalgic on us with her latest X Factor look. Recognise that hairstyle, do you?

After being bashed for her frog green Versace frock from Saturday night (the nickname Kermit may have been bashed about), the former Girls Aloud star came back the next night in true fighting style.

Putting her fashion critics in their place (aka. Simon Cowell), Cheryl rocked up in a super sexy white embellished dress by Nicolas Jebran paired with black and silver cuffed heels by Alexander White.

But it was her hairstyle that really packed a punch. Mrs FV wore her long locks pulled up into a high ponytail while her tumbling waves cascaded round her shoulders, sending us major Ariana Grande vibes.

Not only is this a super sexy sporty look on Cheryl, but it also holds a sentimental meaning for the singer.

Sharing a snap of her Sunday night hair next to a retro shot from her Fight For This Love video, she wrote:

‘On Saturday it was exactly 5 years since Fight for this love was released. Maybe subconsciously last night I was paying homage with this hair and make up look… Thank you for supporting me over these past 5 years .. Looking at this picture just puts it all into perspective for me #Thankyou.’

Aw.

We remember thinking Cheryl was the coolest lady ever when she donned that red military jacket and those leopard print joggers and got her dance on in that infamous 2009 vid. And we definitely don’t blame her for bringing back this easy peasy face-freezing hairstyle.

Hooray for hair recycling!
