Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has been wearing some incredible outfits on The X Factor.
But she’s received quite a bit of criticism for her appearance since the audition process began earlier this month.
When she stepped out in Manchester wearing flared trousers and a stomach-baring crop top last week, some people couldn’t help commenting on her slender frame.
The same occurred when she arrived in London yesterday sporting a 60s-inspired scalloped dress.
Now she’s admitted that she’s trying to ‘bulk up’ by ‘eating lots’ backstage. However, she still doesn’t think the attention on her weight is entirely fair.
‘It’s not nice but the thing is that I’ve been doing this for 13 years, but there are people out there going through similar things to me that feel the same thing, it hurts them,’ she tells The Sun.
‘There are young girls out there and it shouldn’t be happening to them.’
This isn’t the first time Cheryl’s spoken out about her body in recent weeks. When a cruel Instagram troll told her she looked like a ‘bag of bones’ in an Instagram photo, she didn’t mince her words.
‘I am so sick and tired of it being ok to call somebody to thin or “a bag of bones”!’ she’s said to have replied.
‘I would never dream of calling somebody too fat and that they should maybe cut down on their food intake ? What is the difference ?.’
She then went on to reference the recent death of her husband Jean-Bernard’s father, saying: ‘Just loosing my father in law v recently and everything that comes with that.

‘Not that I am or should justify myself to anyone. I’m so f sick of people thinking it’s ok to be mean or body shame anyone.
‘I am just tired of the ignorance…At some point it’s just enough. Some people are naturally thin. My mother is all of 4’11 and six stone something.’
Despite this, Cheryl’s still been enjoying herself while filming The X Factor.
The 32-year-old posted a hilar video to Instagram yesterday, which showed her and her team having a bit of a boogie in what appeared to be her dressing room.
Why were they doing this? Well, it was all down to Simon Cowell.
It sounds like Chezza and her fellow judges may have had to wait around for quite a while before Mr Cowell turned up at their latest auditions.Cheryl captioned the clip: ‘Just a mild version of what goes on behind the scenes when it gets to that time of day and me and my team are deliriously waiting for Simon to either arrive (or have his hair quaffed)!! #mild @dayaruci @karindarnell @annahcstyle.’
Lolz. It IS a very groomed barnet…
She’d paired her graphic-print mini with black block heels and a 60s-style beehive. We seriously love the salmon pink colour of her dress.
But we must say, her dance moves weren’t quite at Girls Aloud standard.
She could be seen bobbing around, swaying her arms and making waves with her hands. Well, we guess that’s what boredom does to you!
Cheryl also posted a funny selfie of herself with Simon and fellow judges Rita Ora and Nick Grimshaw.
She captioned it: ‘I am crying. This is by far the best Simon Cowell photograph of all time. Gotta love him. Great auditions today London! See you tomorrow!’
Despite not being afraid to look a bit silly, Cheryl was far more serious when she made an appearance on ITV’s Good Morning Britain earlier in the day.
She appeared via video link to send a special message to Newcastle schoolboy Tyrese George, who recently won a scholarship to Eton.
‘I just wanted to say a massive congratulations to Tyrese for getting a scholarship to Eton. I’m very, very proud of you and I wish you the best of luck!’ said Cheryl.
Tyrese was clearly very pleased to hear Cheryl’s words of encouragement, saying: ‘It’s very weird to know that she’s talking to me and I’ve heard my name from a celebrity’s mouth. That’s just so amazing.’
