Fashion icon Carine Roitfeld is hooking up with high street hotspot Uniqlo to design a collection in October 2015

Carine Roitfeld Designs For The High Street

Here’s a hot little piece of fashion news for your Thursday morning. Carine Roitfeld, ex-French Vogue editor, founder of CR Fashion Book and bona-fide fashion icon has teamed up with high street hotspot Uniqlo to create a womenswear collection for autumn/winter 2015.

The range won’t hit stores until the end of October, so there’s a little while to wait until we see what Carine comes up with, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed that each piece will ooze her signature Parisian chic. “I started from the idea of clothes that I would want to wear myself, and developed this into clothes that anyone would want to wear, a woman’s ideal of clothes that make her feel transformed when she wears them” says Carine of the collection, which will based on Uniqlo’s LifeWear – think amazing quality at super purse-friendly prices. If she wants to wear them, we’re guessing we definitely will. And if Ms Roitfeld’s wardrobe staples are anything to go by, we’re looking at a collection of chic pencil skirts, wear-forever blazers, skinny scarves, minimalist dresses and polished but relaxed tailoring.

One thing’s for sure – from Kim and Kanye to Kate Upton and Gigi and Bella Hadid, Carine’s army of celeb fans will be first in line when the collection finally lands. We’re scared at the thought of that shopping scrum already!
