Beyoncé Storms Glastonbury Festival 2011
Beyoncé Knowles blew away any of the music critics who doubted her presence at Glastonbury Festival 2011 when she became the first female solo act ever to headline the Pyramid stage with an amazing hour and a half set.
The R&B singer looked bootylicious in black hotpants and a belted gold sequin jacket as she performed to 170,000 people including husband Jay-Z and BFF Gwyneth Paltrow who watched proudly from the crowd.
Kicking off her Glastonbury debut the singer took to the stage singing Crazy In Love (complete with firework display), followed by a selection of her own greatest hits including Single Ladies and Run The World (Girls) plus some tunes from Destiny’s Child. Amazing! The crowd weren’t the only ones enjoying her performance as she shouted ‘You are witnessing my dream! Thank you for having me and my band tonight, I always wanted to be a rock star and tonight we are all rock stars'.
Proving she was no diva on and off-stage, Beyoncéand Jay-Z ditched their VIP spot on Saturday night to watch Coldplay under their hoddies in the midst of the crowd. Beyoncé we salute you! SD
