OMG! Have You Seen What’s Happening In H&M?

Balmain X H&M may have only launched a couple of hours ago to never-ending queues, but scenes from around the world have already caused an Internet sensation. From Instagram to YouTube, clips of the carnage unfolding at the select H&M shops stocking the hotly anticipated collab have gone viral in a matter of minutes, showing shoppers loosing their minds as they battle it out to get their hands on Olivier Rouesting’s wears.

We knew that from all of H&M’s designer collaborations that have come before it, Balmain’s offering was going to just as much of a hit, but nothing could have prepared us for the sheer frenzy that occurred.

Completely selling out in stores by 12pm – a mere three hours after the now-traumatized sales assistants opened the doors – the first pieces to fly off the shelves were the green sequin dress (worn by none other than Kendall Jenner in the star-rammed campaign), the sleek Balmain logo t-shirt – a dead ringer for the £150 mainline version, and Olivier’s favourite item; that velvet blazer embellished with thousands of pearls. Yep, we’re gutted we missed out on that one…

While H&M’s website is still a no-go, and the stores are ransacked, you’ll be pleased to know these hot commodities have already made their way onto eBay. Good news if you have a few hundred pounds to spare, we guess.

This velvet devore dress had the retail price of £99.99 in-store and online. However, on the auction site, it’s been priced three times that high, as we guarantee that figure will rise…

This frock, which Alexa Chung sported at the Balmain X H&M catwalk show in New York was supposed to set customers back £99.99 – a drop in the ocean compared to the £500 pricetag it’s commanding on eBay. Eye-watering…

If you missed out on the action, you can cheer yourself in the knowledge that you didn’t have to encounter this at 9am this morning…
