Angelina Jolie took to the red carpet in New York last night in an outfit that not only could us mere mortals could actually work, but probably have in our wardrobes already! At the New York Film Critics Circle Awards 2012, Mrs Brad Pitt managed to make a rather everyday ensemble of a blouse, pencil skirt and black courts ooze wow factor.
The trick? It’s all in the combo of a silky top and sexy leather skirt – nothing says luxe like a texture clash, especially in timeless monochrome, though pairing two contrasting colours nails the look too. So if you’ve already got the blouse, treat yourself to a pencil skirt or vice versa, et voila, you’re red carpet ready! Sadly, the Angelina out and bouncy blowdry aren’t so easily attainable. GG
