Alexander McQueen Found Dead
British fashion designer Alexander McQueen has been found dead after taking his own life. 40-year-old Alexander (or Lee, as he is better known within the fashion industry) has committed suicide just days before the start of London Fashion Week – he would have been showing his autumn/winter 2010 collection in Paris on March 9. Following his mother’s death just over a week ago, the East London-born catwalk hero who brought us skull scarves and punky tartan became severely depressed. Lee McQueen was awarded a CBE for his services to fashion, won British Designer of the Year four times and supermodel Kate Moss was bridesmaid at his wedding in 2000. A fashion legend has truly been lost. RIP Alexander McQueen. LW
