We love that Alexa’s taken time out of her busy schedule – contributing to Vogue/ being all wide-eyed and coquettish/ clothes-horsing around – to host last night’s Fashion Institute of Technology’s Future of Fashion show in NYC. (It’s the US’s equivalent of St Martins – a zhushy fashion college with an impressive array of superstar designer alumni.)
She took to the stage in pre-fall Calvin Klein, choosing a knitted, dove-grey tunic dress that managed to be both perfectly Chung and perfectly CK. The simple ’60s-esque shape is one that she’s oh-so familiar with, adding her own inimitable spin with glossy black sandals, a vintage-inspired frame bag and floppy fedora. It’s all a bit Marianne Faithfull. And more to the point, it just goes to show that when it comes to minimalist design, Calvin Klein will always be the master.
