Best Dressed At The CFDA Awards 2011
The CFDA, or Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards, is always a prestigious affair, and last night the fashion competition was fierce. Less glitzy than the usual red carpet soirées, attendees can afford to be a little more off-beat with their outfit choices, and we love it. Amanda Seyfried, Chloë Moretz, and supermodels Coco Rocha and Doutzen Kroes were our top four looks of the night, and trust us, it wasn’t an easy choice. Amanda Seyfried opted for the design detail du jour – frothy feathers – on her monochrome high-necked number, while teen style sensation Chloë Moretz went oriental in a kimono wrap dress and lattice heels. Coco Rocha upped the fashion ante, styling her retro floral midi with an oversized black hat and booties – we love how her popping mani lifts the look – while fellow catwalker Doutzen Kroes brought the va-va voom in a slashed to the thigh, sheer-topped gown. Looking that good, we bet this foursome had the rest of the guest list shaking in their Louboutin boots! GG

Celebs Bring On The Brights At The CFDA Fashion Awards 2011
When you’re going up against Lady Gaga’s green hair and sheer body stocking, plus a slew of supermodels, you’ve got to seriously up your red-carpet game to stand out, so Jessica Alba and Ashley Greene’s popping CFDA looks get top marks from us. The pair stood out from the crowd in the hottest summer colours – Ashley Green in fierce Michael Kors neon and Jessica Alba in bump-skimming coral and lilac. See Lady Gaga, outfits don’t have to come with added shock factor to be head-turning. GG

The Olsens Go For Matching Bags At The CFDA Fashion Awards 2011
Forget matching clothes, it’s all about matching bags for Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen at the CFDA Fashion Awards 2011 in New York. Wearing their own designs from their label The Row, the bags are the latest additions to their collection. Ashley Olsen kept her look simple in a blue strapless number, while Mary-Kate Olsen wore a Chanel sequined blazer over her black dress. Coincidentally, the girls also wore matching bags at the CFDA Fashion Awards last year, both opting for black Hermès Kelly bags – we'll be looking out for coordinating handbags next year, girls! The Olsen twins were nominated for the Swarovski Award For Womenswear at last night’s event, but the award went to Prabal Gurung, while Proenza Schouler picked up Womenswear Designer Of The Year. RS

Lady Gaga Goes Green At The CFDA Fashion Awards 2011
Wowsers, if it wasn’t for the quirky outfit and 12in towering platform boots, we would’ve barely recognised Lady Gaga. She looked completely different at last night’s CFDA Fashion Awards where she sported a turquoise bob, strong brows and a red lip. She was there to pick up the award for this year’s style icon. However, after seeing Gaga at the after-party wearing nothing but a studded thong and carefully placed circles under a sheer black catsuit, we think the award should be changed to this year’s most risqué. That is one brave outfit choice, Gaga! RS

The CFDA Fashion Awards 2010
Sarah Jessica Parker and Gwyneth Paltrow led the fashion pack at the CFDA Fashion Awards 2010 in New York, looking every inch global style icons. Gwyneth Paltrow was the first to arrive and made a glamorous entrance in an asymmetric black sequin gown by Michael Kors, complete with a super-sleek ponytail – who said black was boring? Sarah Jessica Parker wasn’t far behind and didn’t disappoint with yet another stunningdesigner dress. This time the Sex And The City star chose a digital print maxi dress by her late friend Alexander McQueen. Sarah completed her look with a messy bouffant hairstyle, statement jewellery and a small leather clutch bag – we want it all!
Gwyneth Paltrow and Sarah Jessica Parker weren’t the only celebs to up the ante in the fashion stakes, as Alexa Chung, Mary-Kate Olsen, Ashley Olsen, Whitney Port and Jessica Biel all put in appearances.
Winners of the evening included Marc Jacobs, who beat off stiff competition from Alexander Wang and Donna Karan to scoop the award for Womenswear Designer Of The Year 2010. Britain’s very own Christopher Bailey took home the award for International Designer Of The Year for his work at Burberry. Other winners included Iman, who picked up the prestigious award for Fashion Icon Of The Year 2010wearing a floor-skimming gown by Giambattista Valli and fashion designer Michael Kors bagged the Lifetime Achievement Award 2010.
