Every Friday afternoon in the LOOK office, a small crowd of girls gather round the beauty desk, waiting for Katie, LOOK’s very own Beauty Writer, to skillfully style their hair for their Friday night out. She straightens, twists, plaits and sprays their hair into gorgeous Bardot-inspired bouncy down ’dos and sleek plaited updos – and teaches them how to do it themselves at the same time (she’s multi-talented, our Katie). It’s become such a ritual in the LOOK office that we thought we’d share it with you…

Thandie Newton’s Ready For Spring In Jonathan Saunders
We’re torn between what we love more in this picture of Thandie Newton – the neon-pink phone box (which surely should be rolled out across the country, no?) or her super-spring-y Jonathan Saunders dress. While the runway version featured a skinny white belt and bow topped heels, Thandie Newton's made hers work for right now with a super-flattering black sash, cropped leggings and edgy peep-toes. The girl’s hit another home run. GG

Thandie Newton’s Bafta Make-Up: Get The Look
In the style stakes we think Thandie Newton is always a stunner, but we’re particularly loving her rosy theme for the Baftas 2011. She teamed up her floral Monique Lhuillier dress with matching make-up hues, proving that you can rock the monotone look without being boring! A sweep of rosy blush with a hint of peach over the cheekbones – try Smashbox's Bloom Cream Cheek Duo in Blushing/Peony, £23 - works perfectly to complement richer pinky brown lipstick with a creamy finish. The Baftas 2011… It’s A Colourama!
Despite the serious downpour, the A-list didn’t let it stop them from shining on the red carpet at the Baftas 2011. Colour was a massive theme of the evening, with lust-worthy catwalk looks from all ends of the colour spectrum. Our fave looks included the ridiculously gorgeous Jessica Alba (seriously, we need to know the secret to her glowing skin), who was breathtaking in a cobalt blue Atelier Versace tulle strapless gown, accessorised with Versace gold platforms and a gold Versace box clutch. The vintage necklace, red lips and messy braided updo all added to her red-carpet winning formula.
Brit actress Thandie Newton was a serious runner-up for best dressed, wearing a hot pink Monique Lhuiller rose-printed number with a hand bustled skirt, she kept her hair sleek and colour-popped with green jewels. The rain splashes even look like they are a part of the dress, now that is impressive! Fellow British actress Rosamund Pike, who usually plays it safe, looked uh-mazing in an ochre yellow halterneck Alexander McQueen dress with matching gold McQueen knuckleduster clutch – we see a running theme occurring with the gold accessories, ladies take note!
Finally, the über-cool Emma Stone opted for a two-tone red belted Lanvin dress hot off the catwalk, again opting for gold accessories paired with nude Lanvin heels. It would appear that along with Thandie, Emma didn’t manage to escape the rain and the dress has taken on a dip-dye hem appearance. Yup, that’s right Em, you’re not in sunny LA anymore – but we love how these ladies brightened up the dreary great British weather, hurrah! RS

Louis Vuitton Maison Opens In Style
From Gwyneth Paltrow to Elle MacPherson, the celebs were decked out in their finest Louis Vuitton pieces to attend the launch of the new Louis Vuitton Maison in Bond Street, London, on Tuesday night. Hosted by Alexa Chung, the store was awash with looks from the romantic '50s inspired autumn/winter 2010 collection, with Gemma Arterton, Daisy Lowe and Kirsten Dunst sporting full-skirted, below-the-knee dresses. Though there was definitely a hemline divide, as Elle MacPherson, Thandie Newton and Alice Dellal opted for thigh skimming minis. Bet they took home one killer goodie bag. - GG

Thandie Newton shines at last nights '2012' film premiere with super-shiny locks and luscious lips!
Thandie Newton has artfully mastered a winning beauty formula; take one super-shiny hairdo, team with a flawless complexion and a statement lip for maximum impact. Thandie teamed her Prabal Gurung dress for last night's premiere (this is definitely a label to watch as we saw Leighton Meester looking floral fabulous in the designers dress yesterday) with a severe side-parted long bob look. To achieve this look, part the hair to the side and blowdry in sections with a large round bristle brush. Make sure you lift the hair at the root and bend over at the tip for a volunised smooth finish. Thandie has cleverly kept her eye-make up to a minimum with just a slight slick of eyeliner, allowing her red pout to do the talking. Finish this groomed look with a radiant complexion water and skin illuminator at the ready!
