When a major A-lister like Sandra Bullock gives an All Saints dress the red carpet stamp of approval, you know you need it in your wardrobe.
The actress glittered at the amFAR Inspiration Gala 2011 in the high street fashion label’s ultra-embellished ‘Eagle’ dress, which we reckon will be a shelf-flyer when it hits fashion stores in time for the party season. It’s super-versatile – work it like Sandra with tux luxe styling, or toughen it up with lace-up wedge boots and a biker jacket, or work it as a skirt for day with an oversized knit on top. Yes, this never-date dazzler is a real hard-worker.

Oscars 2011: The Best Dressed
Last night in LA, the awards ceremony we’ve all been waiting for took place, and the red carpet was awash with Hollywood’s finest wearing amazing gowns at the Oscars 2011. Natalie Portman went straight to her favourite label – and creators of the Black Swan’s costumes – Rodarte, for the divine purple dress she wore to pick up the Best Actress gong. Host Anne Hathaway started the night in a scarlet, bustle-back Valentino dress before a whopping seven costume changes throughout the event, including a fringed Oscar de la Renta frock and a Lanvin tux. The lucky lady even had Valentino himself on hand during her red-carpet walk, perhaps to prevent any possible wardrobe malfunctions! Teen style sensation Hailee Steinfeld looked like a princess in a tulle ballgown she co-designed with Marchesa for the occasion, and worked the red carpet like a pro – you’d never know it was her first Oscar appearance. Last but not least, queen of red-carpet high fashion Cate Blanchett combined elegance and edge with a lilac embellished Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci creation. Mila Kunis and Scarlett Johansson continued the purple trend, Scarlett in lace Dolce & Gabbana and Mila in plunging Elie Saab Couture. Our other favourites? Sandra Bullock in red Vera Wang and Michelle Williams in shimmering Chanel. The Oscars 2010 Fashion Trends: Romantic Ruled!
Well, there’s one thing you can be sure of: the A-list loved a frothy, ruffled,frilly, strapless, romantic-inspired dress at the Oscars 2010. That or classic Hollywood glamour seemed to be the order of the day, bar one or two curveballs (but nothing too disastrous).
Romantic was the overriding trend with waterfall ruffles, frills, trains and acres of blush, nude and powder-puff pink filling up the red carpet. Jennifer Lopez and Amanda Seyfried looked beautiful in Giorgio Armani Privé, Miley Cyrus wore Jenny Packham, Demi Moore poured herself into Atelier Versace waterfall ruffles and the hot contender for dress of the night was Zoe Saldana in the most beautiful Givenchy Couture dress we’ve ever seen. Sarah Jessica Parker’s Chanel Couture sheath also deserves a special mention for classic goddess beauty and being the only lemon frock there.
Golden age of Hollywood glamour also made an appearance in the form of Kate Winslet’s silver YSL ensemble, Sandra Bullock in beaded Marchesa and Charlize Theron in two-tone pink Christian Dior (two trends in one Charlize, well done). And it wouldn’t be Oscar night without a smattering of jewels, beading and embellishment, with Carey Mulligan in black jewelled Prada (we're not sure about the long/short hem – it's like she almost heeded Anna Wintour's advice to go short but wanted to cover all bases), Cameron Diaz in golden Oscar de la Renta and Nicole Richie in vintage-inspired Reem Acra. All in all, a pretty stylish night. ZA

The Oscars 2010: All The Pictures!
The 82nd Annual Academy Awards 2010 (or The Oscars 2010 to most of us), hit Hollywood's Kodak Theatre on Sunday 7 March and the red carpet was laid out for all the hottest, most happening stars in the business. Diane Kruger, Sandra Bullock, Carey Mulligan and Cameron Diaz were just a few of the A-listers to hit the red carpet. Forget fashion week, this is the most eagerly anticipated catwalk on the fashion calendar. We've been waiting weeks, make that months, to see who’s wearing what and the style-set don't disappoint. Golden Globes Beauty Tribe Two: Girlie Glamour
Leona Lewis, Julia Roberts, Sandra Bullock and Emily Blunt opted for a playful look (over the more structured Hollywood Siren look sported by January Jones and Cameron Diaz) with hair worn in relaxed waves. Makeup consisted of an on-trend lilac smoked eye teamed with a peachy flush and a lightly glossed nude pink lip. We’re not sure which look we loved more - The Hollywood Siren or Girlie Glamour - but with Spring makeup collections hitting stores this month, we’ll be trying out both!- JH

Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock's Matching Hairstyles
Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock turned up to the People’s Choice Awards in LA last night with matching side-swept hairstyles, glossed to the max. Both leading ladies opted for a groomed side-parting with their ultra sleek hair swept over the right shoulder – a perfect easy-glam style for long hair. Sandra Bullock even joked about the style clash in her award acceptance speech saying ‘Nicole and I deliberately did our hair the same today’, which left Aussie Nicole Kidman in stitches. Maybe if a trend’s worth doing, it’s worth doing twice! Get the look by applying TIGI Bedhead Control Freak Serum, £9.18, to damp hair and then blow drying it poker straight. Use a paddle brush to sweep the hair over your shoulder and groom it to perfection!
