Dakota Fanning and Rose Byrne both opted for cool icy blue shades as they hit the red carpet for a magazine event at the Mandarin Oriental Ballroom in New York last night. Dakota Fanning looked super-cute in her Spring 2012 Miu Miu silvery blue dress, as she posed with Bridesmaids star Rose Byrne who had also chosen to wear a similar shade. Rose looked chic in a Chanel white shift dress with a pale blue waterfall ruffle and, like Dakota, had chosen to team her dress with leg-lengthening patent nude shoes. Frieda Pinto was also at the Mandarin Oriental and turned up to the awards in a navy and bright blue dress, which she wore with a minimal pure white coat - no drinking red wine in that one, Frieda! Suffering from sparkly party dress fatigue already? Fear not, girlie and frou-frou isn’t your only wardrobe option this Christmas. Chloë Sevigny and Rose Byrne both stepped out in off-beat androgynous fashion looks yesterday, and provided us with some major style inspiration. Chloë Sevigny went all out masculine in a loose fitting suit, but added feminine touches in her signature quirky way with a dogtooth check blouse, red lips and matching bow-topped platform courts. She brings new meaning to the phrase city slicker, eh?

Rose Byrne kept it a little more girlie and figure-fitting in cigarette trousers, a polka-dot shirt and patent pumps. Her all-important styling trick? Buttoning the shirt right to the top for a preppy, boyish feel. Think classic Alexa Chung and you’re bang on the money.  Feeling inspired? Head to high street fashion favourite Zara for luxe tux blazers, Topshop for tailored trousers and check out Warehouse for shirts with a feminine spin. Fashion's finest hit  one of the hottest fashion parties of the year, with Alexa Chung, Rose Byrne, Leigh Lezark, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Solange Knowles and Michelle Trachtenberg joining Mulberry's Creative Director Emma Hill in New York to celebrate Mulberry's 40th Birthday. Alexa Chung, as always, looked picture-perfect rocking a classic trench coat with a statement collar blouse, a mini Mulberry Alexa Bag and cute flat cat shoes - we want a pair! Scrap that. We want the whole outfit!

Rose Byrne and Naomi Campbell love Dolce & Gabbana’s green leopard-print dresses, and we can see why! Coloured leopard print is the new way to work the pattern this season, and with green being the hottest colour on the catwalk, this combo is a fail-safe option. Rose Byrne chose a demure shift dress to attend The Late Show, while Naomi Campbell opted for a halter-neck number in the same print to wear at Dolce & Gabbana’s party at the Net A Porter offices. Now, we may not be able to get our hands on these gorgeous Dolce & Gabbana versions, but it sure has got us thinking about investing in a little more leopard… RS
