It’s certainly one that only the likes of Rihanna can pull off, and not to be worn when popping to the shops! We can always rely on Rihanna to step out in outfits that give Lady Gaga a run for her body-con, and last night was no exception. With futuristic shoulders, Madonna-esque bra cups and black patent leather gloves, Rihanna performed in New York last night in the most fierce monochrome outfit we've seen yet. And although it's not something we'll be wearing down the pub on Saturday night, there's certainly something about her outfit we're coveting – crystal-studded thigh-high boots, anyone? Why not! HE

Rihanna set pulses racing at Madrid’s Rock In Rio music festival when she hit the stage in an outfit that would have made Madonna proud. This was the ‘underwear as outerwear’ trend taken to extremes, with a black cone-shaped bra and high-waisted knickers topped off with a short red pixie crop. And Rihanna wasn’t the only one to flash the flesh at the Spanish festival: both Shakira and Miley Cyrus left little to the imagination in a selection of risqué underwear. We say, if you’ve got it, flaunt it! SD

Rihanna’s sock and shoe combo has caused a severe divide on the Look fashion desk. One side loves the sporty edge it creates – “it’s the new shoe-boot!” someone screams, while the other half feel the severe tight line shortens the leg – “even pin-legged models can’t pull it off “ they shout!    Whichever team you bat for, Rihanna still deserves her style points – we’d have her wardrobe any day, give or take the socks! Rihanna looks hot stuff in her Topshop ensemble as she performs on Alan Carr’s Chatty Man TV show. Rihanna belted out her new single Rude Boy wearing a shark-print sweater and knicker combo from Topshop's new range – well, we would if we had a body like that! The hairnet’s an unusual choice though – reckon she’s got a day job in the local chippy? KA

Rihanna loves nothing more than hitting the red carpet looking super-fierce, all power shoulders, suspenders and studs. So we nearly fell off our chairs when we spotted her in a cute leopard-shaped Jeremy Scott hoodie while promoting her latest album in Seoul, Korea. Not only did it have little ears attached to the hood, it also had a tail at the back– ferocious! KD

Rihanna made yet another extreme style statement as she performed on stage at the Super Bowel Fan Jam wearing a monochrome jumpsuit, complete with asymmetric hem and one-leg design. The singer teamed her jumpsuit by Mariel Haenn and Rob Zangardi with black leather gloves, white shoes, huge blonde quaff hairstyle and fishnet tights as she belted out a selection of hits. Rihanna took a major fashion risk when she took to the red carpet this weekend for the Salute to Icons Honoring Doug Morris event wearing a dress by Viktor & Rolf. The corset frock may look as though it’s had a run-in with Edward Scissorhands but we love this look on Rihanna. Only someone as fashion-forward as her could pull it off.   Believe it or not, the pastel tulle dress that Rihanna wore is one of the more tamer looks from Viktor & Rolf's spring/summer 2010 show. Rihanna was looking lovely in lace in a Jean Paul Gaultier couture gown at the NRJ awards on Saturday. She wowed in the heavily embroidered dress, which had a big slit up the thigh revealing a silver lamé underskirt. What with the combo of white lace and the curly updo, it seems Rihanna’s gone for the feminine chic look over her usual fierce frocks. We reckon she’s onto a winner! - KA
