Hot Label To Watch: Not For Ponies
It’s a known fact we can’t keep a new fashion discovery to ourselves here at LOOK, and Not For Ponies is the latest line to get us talking. Playful, bright and ultra kitsch – we’re talking Paloma Faith levels here – the Manchester-based label is the brainchild of designer Beckie Andrews and is set to inject some major oomph into your wardrobe. For spring summer, it’s more than a little Meadham Kirchhoff inspired, with appliqué teapots, hearts, flowers and ice creams scattered on skater skirts and smock dresses, and t-shirts emblazoned with sweet illustrations. All in all, an array of on-the-money candy colours. If all-out quirky isn’t your bag, go for one piece and team it with sleeker separates to add polish.
Just to up the feel good factor even more, most of the designs are available in ethical options, and prices start at just £20. See Paloma Faith’s Custom-Made Cirque Du Soleil Dress
Paloma Faith’s outfit for the opening night of performance company Cirque Du Soleils’s latest show Totem was never going to be anything less than fabulously OTT. The kitsch singer ruled the red carpet in a totem-inspired couture gown by fledgling fashion designer Alex Noble, who also creates costumes for the dramatic shows. While his name may still be under the style radar, after making his catwalk debut at London Fashion Week AW11 Alex has worked with pop heavyweights Lady Gaga and Florence Welch, as well as designing this multicoloured fishtail gown especially for Ms Faith.
If anyone can pull off such a wow-factor frock it’s Paloma Faith, who did it justice with blue velvet elbow-length gloves, Wonder Woman-style double cuffs and Dolce & Gabbana hairslides. Paloma Faith And Dita Von Teese Kick Off The Xmas Celebrations!
It's Chrriiiiiiiistmas! Finally, it's December and we no longer need to feel guitly about putting the decorations up and playing Mariah Carey Chrimbo songs. So what better way to kick start the festive proceedings than with a tinsel-tastic party at London's Playboy Club, attended by spangle queens Paloma Faith and Dita Von Teese.
Looking stunning in a gold starry Dolce & Gabbana frock, Paloma performed for the party crowd, belting her heart out in true glam rock style. We're taking tips from Dita's party look too. A black lacy number looks so Old Hollywood chic when paired with a red lip and nails. Merry Christmas one and all! LW

Paloma Faith And London’s Cool Crowd Hit The Town
There’s no way we’d turn down an invitation to champagne-maker Perrier-Jouet’s 200th birthday party, so we weren’t surprised when London’s fashion elite rocked up to the bash last night. Paloma Faith and Pixie Geldof joined the likes of Josephine De La Baume, Mark Ronson, Jade Parfitt and Henry Holland at the bubble-filled soiree.
It may have been a swanky champagne celebration, but Paloma Faith and Pixie Geldof didn’t let that get in the way of their signature fashion styles. Paloma shimmered in a sequin crop top and skirt combo – where have you been hiding those abs Ms Faith? - topped off with multi-colour pom poms, while Pixie added a little extra glamour to her usual look in a slinky one-shoulder House of Holland dress, but still sneaked in a grungy vibe with the fishnet overlay.
Mr Ronson and wife Josephine De La Baume amped up the black-tie chic, Mark in a tux and Ms De La Baume in a lacy, thigh flashing dress, and Henry Holland looked dapper in his floral trousers and blazer. If the pictures of him and Jade Parfitt getting down on the dance floor are anything to go by, it looks like it was one fun, fizz filled night on the tiles! GG

Scarlett Johansson And Paloma Faith: Dolce & Gabbana Glamazons
Scarlett Johansson and Paloma Faith made Milan Fashion Week their own personal red carpet at the Dolce & Gabbana SS12 show. The starlets did the Dolce boys proud, oozing glamour in signature sultry señorita looks.
Poster girl Scarlett showcased her famous curves in a nude lace dress, which she gave a retro Hollywood spin with Marcel waves and red lips. Paloma swapped her usual style for a dramatic black corseted fishtail gown, but still managed to add a touch of quirk with patent leather gloves and an oversized fascinator. It’s a wonder the other FROW’ers were able to concentrate on the catwalk with these two in attendance! GG

Their signature styles may be worlds apart, but Cameron Diaz and Paloma Faith both sparkled in gold sequin frocks on the red carpet last night. Cameron flaunted her killer pins in an abstract animal-print shift at the Bad Teacher premiere in Moscow, while Paloma Faith looked every inch her usual showgirl self in a glittering gown and matching fascinator at Alicia Keys' Keep A Child Alive Ball in London. Wonder if both ladies were inspired by LOOK’s style pages? Just a couple of months ago, we told you summer sequins were going to be smoking hot! Celebs Go All Out For The Surrealist Ball 2011
Surely if there’s an event where anything goes wardrobe-wise, it’s the NSPCC Surrealist Ball 2011, and the A-list definitely got into the spirit in London last night. Quirky headwear was the theme, and there was enough in the room to fill a Philip Treacy shop. No stranger to a statement headpiece, Paloma Faith rocked her current favourite, a ’50s-style scarlet headscarf complete with a retro-rolled fringe hairstyle. The singer even matched her eyebrows to her red outfit – now that’s what we call dedication. Natalia Vodianova may have gone for a more muted look in a low-cut black maxi dress, but we couldn’t take our eyes off her polka-dot hand fascinator. They weren’t the only ones hogging the hat limelight – handbag guru Lulu Guinness sported a blue and green bird on her head, while actress Margo Stilley arrived in a giant bright-pink Care Bear head – genius! Paris was spilling over with celebrities this weekend, in town to sit front row at shows including Lanvin and Jean Paul Gaultier, but it was Paloma Faith who grabbed our attention at the Hogan party. The retro songstress mixed über-glamour with granny chic, pairing her fishtail Dolce & Gabbana gown and satin gloves with a headscarf-adorned hairstyle, but what we’re really lusting after is her zesty orange iconic Lulu Guinness lips clutch. Well, it wouldn’t be Paloma without least one quirky accessory, and if you can’t go all out at Paris Fashion Week, when can you? GG
