New York Comes Alive For Fashion’s Night Out
Fashion’s Night Out saw celebs from the other side of the pond taking to the streets of Manhattan for New York’s FNO. Nicole Richie had us drooling over her boho maxi dress and that jeweled headband, we want!
Over at YSL, Nicki Minaj ditched her out-there outfits and toned it down in black and gold. Her usual kooky style was still in full force in the hair and make-up department as she rocked chopsticks in her hair and a full neon pink lip. Sarah Jessica Parker hit shoe guru Manolo Blahnik’s store in the same white stilettos that she wore to The Late Show, paired with a cutwork black leather dress. We are loving the fashion, ladies, but for us Nicole Richie has that wow factor. We’ll take that headband over Nicki’s chopsticks any day! RS

For years YSL’s iconic Touche Eclat has been the go-to concealor for thousands of women world-wide, one pen is sold every 10 seconds! So when we found out they were launching an extra six shades we thought we had to share it with you. Now there's a shade for all skin tones and they’re also a great tool for contouring too! YSL’s National Make-up Artist Frederic Letailleur gave us a great tip ‘instead of using your fingers blend in your touché éclat using bronzing brush. You get a smoother finish and you don’t waste any.” The new shades hit Selfridges from 19 May 2011. SF

Autumn/Winter 2011 Beauty Sneak Peak: Statement Lips
We’re all over the spring 2011 beauty trends, so we thought we’d have a quick gander at one of next season’s biggest beauty trends, the statement lip. From plum to cherry, the key is to let your lips make an impact. Team with a light blue flick like Jil Sander or masses of lashes like Gucci and YSL. And don’t fret about perfecting it – remember you have a whole six months to get the technique. PS

Red Carpet Watch: Last Night’s Best Dressed
With all the premieres, parties and red carpet runs it must permanently feel like party season in celebland. But while we’re still struggling to find one killer party dress, celebs up the style ante every time and last night’s crop of A-list lovelies were no exception. First up, Reese Witherspoon looking like a perfectly wrapped present in a bow print Zac Posen bandeau at the premiere of her new film ‘How Do You Know?’. The red-carpet pro let the body-sculpting dress do the talking and accessorised only with glossy locks and YSL platforms. The lovely Michelle Williams also went strapless at the ‘Blue Valentine’ screening in a winter white Christian Dior mini dress. We’ve got serious shoe envy over those berry satin Charlotte Olympia's, and how cool is that dark eyebrow/platinum crop combo? Last but not least is Katy Perry, who’s still abstaining from the latex and wowed in a mosaic-effect Issa sequin maxi dress with raven waves. We’re liking this new ladylike look Ms Perry, keep it up! Beauty Tried And Tested: The Best Cream Blushers
Want a new blush to complement the changing winter colours? Then LOOK is here to help. Today our very own Beauty Editor Sophie Beresiner and LOOK reader Joanna Harper have put four transitional cream blushers to the test...
Beauty Editor: The creamy texture smoothes over cheeks perfectly, filling and hiding any open pores (ideal for oilier skin types). A bright orange colour that’s one for the cool kids – it would look mega-hot teamed with a cobalt-blue eyeshadow. Joanna: Although I quite I liked this blusher, it didn’t have a built-in mirror, which was a shame. The colour was slightly more daring than I would normally go for, but it brightened up my skin instantly. Beauty score: 3/5
Beauty Editor: Such a subtle colour, it could get lost on darker skintones, but it looks amazing on porcelain beauties. The slight shimmer makes skin look more awake – great for the morning after the night before. Joanna: I found the colour a little wishy-washy for my skintone, so I had to layer it up a lot to make it visible on my cheeks. It worked great as a glossy eyeshadow, though! Beauty score: 2/5
- Yves Saint Laurent Crème De Blush in 3, £29
Beauty Editor: This is the perfect blusher for die-hard bronzer addicts. The two-tone pink and brown means you can still keep the tan, while welcoming a warm rosy glow. Joanna: This blusher is great; I love the subtle colour. You only need a small amount and it lasts for ages, which is great considering how expensive it is. Well worth the splurge! Beauty score: 4/5
- Une Breezy Cheeks Blush in Blush Grand Air, £8.99
Beauty Editor: This would suit almost every skintone. A wearable classic blusher with a great built-in mirror for touch-ups on the go. Joanna: This is my new favourite blush – the colour and texture is perfect for my paler winter skin. I loved the packaging too, it was so easy to open and I could use it anywhere without causing a mess. Beauty score: 5/5

Brit Girls Alexa Chung And Carey Mulligan Party In NYC
Brit girls Alexa Chung and Carey Mulligan were flying the flag for the UK at the launch of hot new website boutiques.com in New York last night, and boy did they do us proud! Alexa looked gorgeous in a green printed dress by Proenza Schouler and berry lips, while Carey looked chic in a snake-print dress by Lanvin and Yves Saint Laurent heels. They were both out to celebrate the launch of Google’s new fashion site boutiques.com, which works as a fashion search engine, allowing users to save items, brands and looks you love in your own personal shop. Designers such as Oscar de La Renta, Matthew Williamson and Temperley London have already set up their own virtual stores on the site, and if that hasn’t sold you already, some of the world’s hottest celebs, including Olivia Palermo, Ginnifer Goodwin, Nicole Richie and the Olsen twins, have also set up their own pages, with recommendations of their favourite buys. Drew Barrymore Does Dress-Down Chic
Continuing on her fashion roll promoting her new movie Going The Distance, Drew Barrymore hits us with yet another fashion fabulous outfit. Keeping with her laid-back yet glam look, Drew hit the concrete carpet for an appearance on The Daily Show last night in a grey tee, utility jacket (love the cuffed sleeves) and that want-it-now purple pop skirt. She also gave her grey YSL Trib Two’s their third outing of the week, but with heels that hot we can’t blame her. One things for sure, her new look is really going the distance – keep those outfits coming Drew!
