Tigi Hair Trend Tribes
We know summer's far from over, but starting on the new autumn/winter 2010 hair trends now means we can get them perfect by the time September comes around. So when catwalk hair experts Tigi invited us to their trends talk, we made sure we were armed with notebook for all they had to tell us. Hair for next season pretty much falls into two categories – grunge (think ’90s cool kids) and preppy (your all-American good girls). We'll be twisting up our sleek sorority-style buns on clean hair with a healthy dose of hairspray and then rocking, Nirvana-worthy textured waves the very next day with a little help from our dry shampoo. We're starting to think the beauty world has a split personality! JH

Beauty Tried And Tested: Shine Sprays
Want to know what the best beauty products are before you buy? LOOK is here to help... this week our very own Beauty Editor Sophie Beresiner and LOOK reader Rosheen Brooks have put shine sprays to the test...
Beauty Editor: Good for taming frizz and adding shine, but it weighed my hair down. The mini bottle is good for keeping in your handbag for a boost after work. Rosheen: As this was a pump spray, it was quite heavy and left my hair greasy. It’d be better for thick hair. Beauty Score: 2/5
Beauty Editor: This was like using a traditional hairspray. It definitely made my hair shinier but I didn’t notice any difference in volume like it promised. Rosheen: I blow-dried my hair on a cooler setting as the directions recommended and my hair smelt lovely and stayed glossy all night. Beauty Score: 4/5
Beauty Editor: This gave my hair a mega-shine boost without feeling like I had lots of product in it. A hair SOS essential. Rosheen: I liked the fine mist as it gave a more even coverage than the others. My hair looked much shinier but still natural. Beauty Score: 5/5
- Matrix Essentials Color Smart Shine Spray, £9.95
Beauty Editor: I sprayed this on my hair after styling and noticed that it had a glistening effect straight away. A fruity smelling spray that’s great for refreshing tired tresses. Rosheen: I found this workedbest if I sprayed it on before using straighteners, but it still felt a bit heavy. My hair looked glossier but the effect didn’t last all day. Beauty Score: 3/5

Christina Aguilera's Rockabilly Hairstyle
When we clocked Christina Aguilera’s recent updo, we thought we were having a flashback from the final scene in Grease! But her high-impact style is actually really easy to do and the key to this look is in the product. Run a curl mousse like Tigi Bed Head Foxy Curls Extreme Curl Mousse, £9.90, through your hair. Then, tong just the bottom half of your hair into tight, bouncy curls. Next, after dividing your hair into sections, pull the curls tightly into the centre of your head and pin them securely, working your way from your forehead right down to the nape of your neck. Let the curls tumble a little, then finish with a large dose of hairspray. Retro glamour in an instant. Phew! - JH

TIGI Launches Eco Beauty Hair Products
If you care about the environment but aren’t about to go full-on eco warrior, Tigi’s new Love, Peace & The Planet range is just the ticket.
Free from nasty parabens, completely biodegradable and housed in hard-as-nails military-style recyclable packaging, the six products give you professional haircare along with the smug feeling that you’re doing your bit for Mother Earth. We’ve been road testing the shampoo and conditioner and love the way it leaves our hair minty fresh, but be warned, unisex products sound good in theory but sharing them with boys might require UN peace talks. - JH

Stella McCartney gives us legging envy as she steps out in racy lace.
When Stella McCartney turned on the Christmas lights at her London store earlier this week it wasn't the decorations we were looking at. Stella's side-panelled lace leggings caused us to drool unashamedly.
Stella teamed her racy leggings with a satin waist-pinching jacket from her own collection, vertiginous ankle boots keeping her hair slick back and makeup to a minimum for an overall sophisticated look with a subtle sexy edge.
Follow Stella's fancy legwork and slip into a pair of sassy leggings this winter. Topshop, Urban Outfitters and H&M have leggings galore at pocket friendly prices.
