Katie Holmes And Lucy Liu Rock Azzedine Alaia
Katie Holmes rocked a laid-back look this weekend at the MTV Video Music Awards, wearing an Azzedine Alaia dress with tan Proenza Schouler shoe boots to present the award for video of the year to Katy Perry.
Earlier on this year, Lucy Liu sported the same dress to a film screening in New York where she worked it with nude patent heels and a red quilted Chanel bag.
While we love Lucy’s glossy dressed-up way of wearing it, there's something quite cool about Katie’s dressed-down vibe. Especially considering at the same awards, Katy Perry donned a yellow box on her head and Lady Gaga came dressed as a man.
It may be simple, Katie, but for that we salute you! RS

The New York A/W ’11 Fashion Trends We’re Excited About!
We know that summer’s not even arrived yet, but we couldn’t resist showcasing our three favourite A/W ’11 trends from New York Fashion Week. First up is luxe grey – everyone from Donna Karan to Victoria Beckham gave us the heads up to ditch black for its more grown-up counter part. Craftwork made a big splash at Proenza Schouler and Rodarte but our top New York Fashion Week look was at Marc Jacobs. The fun ’20s bellboy hat and that polka-dot print two-piece had us at hello. Let’s hope that London, Paris and Milan follow suit! PS

We’ve long been fans of Nicky Hilton’s off-duty LA looks, so we can’t get enough of yesterday’s laid back biker style. Making the motorcycle jean look as fresh as ever and proving all black can be far from boring, she topped off the look with her favourite Proenza Schouler PS1 satchel and some fierce booties we’ve treated you to a close up of. Brit Girls Alexa Chung And Carey Mulligan Party In NYC
Brit girls Alexa Chung and Carey Mulligan were flying the flag for the UK at the launch of hot new website boutiques.com in New York last night, and boy did they do us proud! Alexa looked gorgeous in a green printed dress by Proenza Schouler and berry lips, while Carey looked chic in a snake-print dress by Lanvin and Yves Saint Laurent heels. They were both out to celebrate the launch of Google’s new fashion site boutiques.com, which works as a fashion search engine, allowing users to save items, brands and looks you love in your own personal shop. Designers such as Oscar de La Renta, Matthew Williamson and Temperley London have already set up their own virtual stores on the site, and if that hasn’t sold you already, some of the world’s hottest celebs, including Olivia Palermo, Ginnifer Goodwin, Nicole Richie and the Olsen twins, have also set up their own pages, with recommendations of their favourite buys. Turning up at the 27th Annual Night of Stars In New York last night, Ms Bosworth wowed in a stunning (and very orange) Proenza Schouler dress from the spring/summer 2011 collection. Seems a plain black dress no longer cuts it in celeb world. Two of our most-watched red carpet starlets have given the simple LBD a super- glam update – sequins! Jessica Alba’s Wonder Wedges!
Does Jessica Alba plan on taking the whole of Proenza Schouler’s spring/summer 2010 collection for a red carpet spin? After wearing their green feathered peacock mini dress earlier this month, the actress chose another look from the killer collection of tropical bright abstract animal skins and dip-dye fabrics at last night’s Tribeca Film Celebration 2010 in LA. Though we’d kill for her high-shine shift, it’s Proenza’s strappy, sculptural wedge shoes that have had the fashion team in a tizz. And don’t think we didn’t notice that hot blue nail shade either.
