Flash Fashion Trend: Techno Florals

Get Alesha’s BGT Wardrobe – On A Budget!
The Britain's Got Talent contestants weren't the only ones upping the ante for the semi-final at the weekend. Alesha Dixon called in the catwalk big guns for Sunday and Monday nights shows, taking to the stage in high fashion frocks from Mary Katrantzou and Gucci. First up was a popping number from London Fashion Week print queen Mary, which Alesha teamed with pink Charlotte Olympia platforms and bouncy locks, before throwing us a wardrobe curveball on the second night with a sleeker look in embellished, art deco inspired Gucci, a groomed ponytail and dainty strappy shoes.
Sadly, swooning over these pics of Alesha is probably about as close as we'll ever get to her designer hot frocks, but Lipsy are on hand to help us pay tribute, high street style, with their homages. Try layering the embellished bandeau over a sheer long sleeve top for even more of a Gucci feel, or follow Ms Dixon’s lead by choosing a pair of heels that complement out a colour on the floral dress for extra zing. Alexa Chung Works Masculine Tailoring At Mary Katrantzou
Alexa Chung was in the front row for one of the most anticipated shows of the season, Mary Katrantzou's AW12 collection. Alexa teamed a silk printed blouse with cropped navy pants and patent flat brogues – sans socks, of course – as she watched the show alongside Anna Wintour. Mary's famous digital prints, which have made her a firm favourite with the celebs, did not disappoint as the models sashayed down the catwalk in various blooms, ornamental-inspired prints, all mixed with bright azure blues, pinks and yellows. The exaggerated peplum details were still in force, as were silky pyjama style trousers and funnel neck coats with tulip hems, proving Mary knows a thing or two about shapes as well as prints. Poppy Delevingne Debuts Mary Katrantzou For Topshop
If you’ve picked up this week’s LOOK, you’ve no doubt already got your beady eye on a piece from Topshop’s latest designer hook-up. The high street heavyweight has pulled in the big guns once again, this time in the form of print goddess Mary Katrantzou, and lucky model Poppy Delevingne’s already taken one frock for a red-carpet spin. The statuesque blonde picked one of the hottest pieces from the collection, the lampshade skirt mixed print dress, for a fashion bash this week – as if it didn’t have sell-out stamped all over it already, it'll be snapped up in a flash now. With everything from cute collar shirts to curve-clinging body-con dresses, all splashed with Katrantzou’s AW11 catwalk prints, we can’t imagine there’s going to much left on the rails when it lands on 17 February! Alexa Chung Matches Her Mani To Her Mary Katrantzou Dress
Now that’s what we call accessorising, Alexa Chung! The queen of the fash pack led the black carpet parade at a Vogue Eyewear launch in New York wearing a dress by Brit designer of the moment Mary Katrantzou. The Greek print queen’s designs are loved by fashion eds and the A-list, and Alexa picked a corker from the AW11 collection. Velvet with a regal-meets-baroque-meets-floral mash-up, fashion expert Miss Chung knows you need to let a frock like that do the talking, but we love how she sneaked in a bit of stellar accessorising with her green glitter manicure – she must be pretty smitten with it too judging from that pose! Keira Knightley Stuns At Venice Film Festival 2011
Keira Knightley has been off the fashion radar of late, but wow is she back!
Looking absolutely gorgeous at Venice Film Festival 2011 to promote her film A Dangerous Method, Kiera wore a printed Mary Katrantzou dress with nude platforms and cat-eye sunnies.
We love this look so much it could possibly be our fave dress from Venice so far – that’s one hell of a comeback, Kiera! RS
