George At Asda's Marc Jacobs-Style Skirt
Talk about a Marc Jacobs doppelgänger!
We've been waiting for this cute bird-print skirt to hit George at Asda's website and its finally arrived.
At a snip of the price – George's version is just £12 compared to MJ's whopping £335 – we'll be styling ours with a washed out denim jacket for the weekend, and glamming it up with a Chanel-style boucle cropped jacket – try Zara for high street lookalikes.
Best £12 you'll spend this week? We think so! HH

Beauty News: Marc Jacobs Is Launching A Make-Up Line!
Marc Jacobs may well be the busiest person in the fashion industry! Not content with designing for three of the biggest fashion labels in the world and having a successful fragrance line, the designer is now planning to launch a cosmetics range. Yes, our hearts just skipped a beat, too!
Marc will be teaming up with US beauty giants Sephora to launch the range, and he told WWD (Women's Wear Daily): “I see make-up, fragrance – everything, really as an opportunity. The idea of choosing a colour for your lip, or an eyeliner – it’s just such a delight. We currently are working on defining what Marc Jacobs cosmetics will be, what they’ll say, what makes them distinctive."
Although it’s early days, we can’t wait to see what Sephora and Marc come up with. Let’s hope the range will be available in the UK or we’ll have to start saving up for our airline tickets now! VJ

New York Fashion Week Mini Trend: Ice Blue Dresses
New York Fashion Week is in full swing and yesterday saw the A-list flocking to the hottest slot on the schedule, Marc Jacobs. Fashion-world royalty and screen sirens alike packed out the front row, but it was Marc Jacobs’ Lola poster girl Dakota Fanning and sports starlet Maria Sharapova who caught our eye with their trend trail-blazing looks. Both blonde beauties went for icy blue frocks, putting a glossy spin on SS12’s pastel craze. Dakota went down the edgier route in a laser-cut shift decorated with studs and paired with the shoe of the moment – Marc Jacobs’ pointed Mary Janes. Maria, meanwhile, kept it sugary sweet in a shimmering sheer dress and powder pink clutch – our only improvement would have been switching the black courts for something lighter. We just got a little more obsessed with fondant fancy shades. GG

Fashion Trend Tremor: Silver Shoes
Calling all magpies – you can thank Marc Jacobs for this one. Ever since he showed shiny silver shoes on his Louis Vuitton SS12 carousel catwalk, we knew it was only a matter of time until they hit the high street fashion shelves. They look perfect offset against sping's sorbet shades but can even be edged up with wintery neutrals like black and navy. Let's face it, this weather doesn't exactly make you want to step out in macaroon coloured lace just yet! Be sure to go for a mirrored-style super-shiny silver (as opposed to a matte version) like these ones from high street fashion fave, Topshop, £65, and wear with conviction – they might be girlie but they demand attention! Jessica Alba Nails Off-Duty Fashion
We have a major, major crush on Jessica Alba this morning, her off-duty wardrobe while in New York yesterday could not have been any more perfect if she'd tried. We literally want everything.
First up, Jessica mixed the sports luxe fashion trend with Marc Jacobs shoes and digi florals, care of those beyond amazing Erdem trousers, all thrown together with an Acne jumper and green ombre coat. We might not be able to afford the real deal with her trousers, but high street fashion favourite New Look have a pretty perfect pair at a bargainous £29.99 due to hit fashion stores soon. Cowboy Boots Make A Fashion Trend Comeback!
Ladies, say hello to the new spring trend you can wear right now. That's right, cowboy boots are back on the runway! And with Balmain, Marc Jacobs and Miu Miu all featuriing them on their catwalks, they qualifiy as a 100% guarenteed new-season must-have. These showstoppers all had heels – Marc's stilletto, Miu Miu's ’70s and Balmain's cone – but the standard cuban heel will work just as well. Look for details like a V-shaped top, tooling (leather detailed patterns) and interesting colour combos. Yeehah!

On anyone else, a shiny silver laser cut coat and co-ordinating heels may be a celebrity fashion no-no, but this is Alexa Chung we’re talking about, and the outfit in question is hot-off-the-designer catwalk SS12 Marc Jacobs. Yep, Alexa Chung isn’t all about girlie smocks, breton tops and brogues, as she proved at an appearance on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon in New York yesterday. Not only has she convinced us that double metallics are doable, we’re also considering a serious return to the pointy shoe – as well as Marc Jacobs, they made a comeback in designer fashion collections at Louis Vuitton, Erdem and Sportmax. Though perhaps not the best footwear to attempt American football in, eh Alexa? GG
