Beauty Tried And Tested: The Best Smoothing Shampoos
Looking for a new shampoo to tame your unruly flyaways? Then LOOK's very own Beauty Editor Sophie Beresiner and LOOK reader Emma are here to help, as they've searched the high street looking for the best smoothing shampoos to put to the test...
Beauty Editor: Straightens the hair right through to the cuticle without making it look flat. Hair is left looking healthier and with a good injection of bounce. Emma: The name of this made me really want to try it – every girl wants to feel sexy, right? I loved how moisturising it was and it didn’t weigh my hair down. I’ll use this again. Beauty Score: 4/5
Beauty Editor: Cleanses hair without leaving it dry and smoothes out frizz without any fuss. It’s super-conditioning, too, making it great for damaged hair. Emma: This was the first time I've tried this brand and I loved it! My hair was straighter than it's ever been and it smelt lovely. Beauty Score: 5/5
Beauty Editor: This leaves locks sleeker than ever and protects from the inevitable heat damage of straighteners, meaning you can still use them minus the guilt. Emma: Easy to massage in and had a lovely smell that stayed on my hair throughout the day. The smooth texture wasn't there, though, and my hair felt tangled. Beauty Score: 3/5
- Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Daily Shampoo, £9.30
Beauty Editor: This one’s tough on frizz but still light enough to use every day. It could leave fine hair looking a bit limp, so it’s best for thick unruly hair. Emma: It foamed up instantly and felt really luxurious. It made a huge difference to my hair after I’d dried it, too – it was loads smoother, with half as many flyaways. Beauty Score: 3/5
