Cannes Film Festival 2012 Day Two Fashion Review
After the opening dresses for Cannes Film Festival 2012, we were sure the A-listers weren't going to be able to outdo themselves in the style ranks, but weren't we wrong!
Marion Cotillard looked simply stunning in a black Christian Dior ballgown, whilst Eva Longoria went for timeless elegance in a geometric Emilio Pucci dress.

Natalie Portman Does Ballet Chic In Dior
If anyone knows how to pick the perfect outfit for a ballet gala, it’s Black Swan starlet Natalie Portman. At the New York City Ballet’s spring bash last night, the actress took wardrobe inspiration from ballerina tutu’s in a tulle tiered, bow adorned navy blue Christian Dior gown.
Natalie glided into the gala with dancer husband Benjamin Millepied on her arm, completing her frou frou head-to-toe Dior look with a clutch and heels by the designer. Ah, the perks of being ‘Miss Dior Cherie’ eh Natalie? GG

The Oscars 2012: Best Dressed
The A-list called in the fashion big guns at last night’s Oscars and it was the hottest event on the Hollywood calendar, as always. The red carpet was awash with couture creations from Lanvin to Tom Ford, with the reigning trends being black, white and the occasional flash of red. Silver screen idol Meryl Streep was the star of the night, taking home her third Best Actress award for her role as Margaret Thatcher in the Iron Lady. Meryl gave her younger red carpet competitors a serious run for their money in the gown stakes too, dazzling in a draped gold Lanvin dress, teamed with matching Salvatore Ferragamo heels – a tribute to the former Prime Minister’s favourite footwear designer.
Angelina Jolie played it safe but super sexy in a gown from her go-to label Atelier Versace. The actress accessorised the black velvet floor-sweeper with a red pout and a whole lot of leg. Been stealing posing tips from Victoria Beckham, Ange? Michelle Williams may have lost out on the Best Actress gong, but she’s topped the red carpet style charts in a coral peplum-waisted Louis Vuitton number, teamed with a clashing pink clutch. Gwyneth Paltrow led the white dress pack in a striking column dress by Tom Ford, complete with a sweeping cape detail. With gorgeous gowns galore, this year's Oscar frock competition was fierce – we also adored Emma Stone in raspberry Giambattista Valli, Natalie Portman in polka dot vintage Dior and Rooney Mara in stunning white Givenchy. Michelle Williams Shines In Dior
With Marilyn Monroe a huge fan of Christian Dior it came as no surprise that Michelle Williams wowed on the red carpet for the Paris film premiere of My Week With Marilyn in an amazing Dior gown. Michelle, who has long been a Dior fan herself, outdid herself in this pale pink embellished dress that wouldn't look out of place in a fairytale. Michelle made the SS11 haute couture dress her own by ditching the catwalk strappy shoes in favour of metallic courts with scarlet nails and lips and dare we say it, we prefer her look! If the actress doesn't win an Acadamy Award for Best Actress next week for her part in the film, we're certain she'll top a few best dressed lists! KA

Cameron Diaz and Bar Refaeli Wow At The Dior Couture Show
Paris couture week is in full swing and the A-list are out in full force. As well as Giambattista Valli and Versace’s return to the couture world after an eight-year hiatus, hot ticket Dior also showed, with Bar Refaeli, Cameron Diaz, Olivia Palermo and Anna Wintour watching on.
Both wearing Dior designs, Cameron opted for a kitsch ’50s look in a polka-dot prom frock and pouffy quiff, while Bar oozed sex appeal in a figure-hugging cream mini and coordinating strappy heels. On the runway, however, it was a mix of old Hollywood gowns and elbow-length gloves, cocktail hour frocks and pencil skirts teamed with peplum blouses. Wonder if we’ll see that tulle ballgown swooshing down the red carpet on Oscar night? GG

Rachel McAdams And Marion Cotillard Work Monochrome Lace
Rachel McAdams and Marion Cotillard have both stepped out in gorgeous monochrome lace creations this week. First up, Marion Cotillard donned a Christian Dior lace-overlay skater dress for a Chaumet dinner in Paris, which she teamed with opaques and a casual updo. Meanwhile, over in Munich, Rachel McAdams joined co-star Channing Tatum for the premiere of their new film The Vow wearing a black and nude Collette Dinnigan figure-hugging dress. Monochrome and lace have just shot to the top of our must-have list! RS

Charlize Theron and Michelle Williams both rocked ‘20s-style vintage headbands at the annual awards ceremony. Charlize Theron teamed her breathtaking pale pink Dior couture dress with a super-sparkly platinum and diamond Cartier Collection headband from the ’20s – oh, what we’d give to wear that piece for one night!
Michelle Williams accessorised her super-cute pixie crop hairstyle and Jason Wu dress with a vintage headband by Fred Leighton – a great contrast to her strawberry blonde hair. Both looked great but who won the best headband award? Our vote has to go Ms Theron. Charlize Theron braved the cold last night as she attended the world premiere of her film Young Adult in New York last night. She rocked a red Christian Dior trompe l'oeil leather dress with Jimmy Choo shoes and bare legs! You're a braver girl than us, Charlize! Rock your spring-ready coloured leather like Charlize this winter, but pair yours with tights to avoid the goosebumps! RS

Katy Perry Rocks MTV's VMAs '11 (In Four Different Outfits)
Katy Perry rocked an impressive four outfit changes at this year's MTV VMAs, which took place on Sunday night. To walk the red carpet with husband Russell Brand, Katy worked an Atelier Versace geisha-inspired number complete with parasol, which she teamed with neon strappy Jimmy Choos and flowers in her newly pink hair. Katy then donned a gorgeous deep purple Tom Ford gown to present an award, before changing into a Christian Dior Fall 2011 couture skirt and top with a Philip Treacy yellow cube hat to accept the award for video of the year for her song Firework. Last but not least, Katy changed into a Johnny Wujek sequin black dress covered in records and emblazoned with her name as she entered the press room at the end of the night. Then it was on to the after-party where no doubt there was another wardrobe change! We’re not sure what we are most impressed by – the numerous outfits, or the fact that she also changed her nails to suit each outfit. Now that is dedication! RS

Jessica Chastain: Red Carpet One To Watch
Sultry redhead Jessica Chastain is taking Hollywood by storm with a string of stellar roles in the biggest box office movies, as well as some killer red-carpet looks. First up was The Tree Of Life alongside Brad Pitt, and next to be released is The Debt, in which she co-stars with Helen Mirren – and boy did she wow at the New York premiere last night. Jessica flaunted her amazing curves in a powder-blue Christian Dior bodice dress and nude Louboutin courts. Next up, she’s starring in the hottest book adaptation of the year, The Help, alongside Emma Stone, which hits our screens in October. We can’t wait to see what she pulls out of the bag wardrobe-wise for that one! GG
