Royal Beauty: How To Do Kate Middleton's Wedding Hairstyle
If you were one of the two billion people who tuned in to watch the royal wedding, you’ll definitely agree that our new Princess Catherine looked amazing. Her hair was styled by James Pryce, who's part of the Richard Ward hairdressing team. James gave her a ‘demi-chignon’, which in everyday hair terms is a half up, half down style with tousled waves and a little bouffant at the crown. Want to recreate the princess ’do? Now you can with the very first step-by-step here at LOOK!
- Step 1: Prep the hair with a styling mousse – this will make your curls really last and give limp hair that extra volume.
- Step 2: Using a tail comb, part your hair from the side to the centre in a diagonal line.
- Step 3: Create Kate's beautiful bouncy curls by using tongs – Babyliss Pro Glamour Waves, £15, are our favourite. Wrap sections of hair about an inch wide around the barrel and repeat all over your head.
- Step 4: Add a slight bouffant at your crown by gently backcombing, using a comb or brush.
- Step 5: Pin back the front sections level with your ears for the half up, half down finish. Then, using your fingers, loosely pull the curls out so they look more natural.
- Step 6: For this final step, you’ll need a killer tiara, which is of course optional! Slip on a veil too, and you could give Kate a run for her money! SF
