Face mask selfies have been the ultimate beauty selfie goal ever since Chrissy Teigen and gang made the terrifying appearance of sheet masks cool.
Whether you’re multi-masking, sheet masking or going DIY with homemade gloop, it’s become de rigour to slather up and snap. But now there’s a whole new craze taking the face mask selfie to a hilarious new level.
Say hey to the bubble mask.
Though the masks themselves aren’t exactly brand new – the Korean fizzy face mask craze made waves in the UK last year – there’s a whole new appreciation for the bizarre way they bubble up on your face.
From couples bubble masking together to face mask newbies freaked out by the fizz, Instagram is literally flooding with LOL-worthy bathroom selfies.
So what’s the deal with bubble masks?
Hailing from Korea, the masks use savvy skincare science to create a ‘reaction’ when they’re mixed with water.
Often using vitamin C powder or oxygen, the masks start to fizz when they hit your skin and lather into a brilliant bubbly foam, which deeply cleans and exfoliates without any itchy grains.
The result? Brighter, smoother skin that’s been fizzed to flawless perfection.
If you’ve lost your glow or have skin’s looking and feeling a bit congested, a bubble mask is your answer.
There’s just one thing you need to remember – take a selfie!
