Bye, Bye Balayage, Tiger Eye Hair Is The New Colour We’re Lusting After

We're predicting it to be the biggest hair trend of 2017

When balayage first hit the hair scene, we fell head over heels in love. It was the answer to all our hair prayers; a naturally sun kissed colour without the long term commitment or roots.

We haven’t really looked back since, I mean stripy highlights are like so five years ago, right? Right. So when we heard about a brand spankingly new variation of the dye technique, one that is specifically suited to brunettes, we had a mini freak out.

If you’re a bit of a mystic meg and crystals and gems are your thing, you’ll probably already be familiar with a tiger eye. “A tiger eye is an ancient stone worn for protection and confidence – it’s known for its rich browns and golds,” said hairstylist Corey Tuttle to Byrdie.

Turns out this little gem is the inspo behind the latest colour trend and it’s been blowing up all over our Intsa feed. Think Jlo and Jessica Alba’s effortless honeycomb highlights.

If you’re thinking about trying out the tiger eye, arrive equip with some of these images, and make sure you ask for hand painted golden highlights over your chocolate brown base…

Just like the original balayage technique, you don’t need to worry about root grow out, and lets face it, that’s one of the main reason lazy girls like us love the technique. We’re expecting to see a lot more of the #tigereye cropping up on our feed.
