The New York Fashion Week Statement Eye Round Up

It may be freezing cold in New York, but that hasn’t stopped fashion week churning out some super-hot eye looks. We’ve seen catwalk-cool make-up at the likes of Monique Lhuillier, where models rocked peacock-pretty peepers, whilst at Tadashi Shoji we saw glitter-lined lids, and Herve Leger kept things classic with a warm neutral smoke.

To recreate a peacock-inspired eye you’ll need a green, blue and purple shadow, we love MAC’s Eyeshadows in Steamy, Contrast and Cranberry, £13 each. Start by blending the green shadow across your lid, concentrating the colour at the inner corners. Then layer your blue shade from the centre of your eye outwards. Finally dust the purple shadow into your crease to give a multi-tonal contour. Et voila! Remember to finish with a lick of mascara and trace your waterline with a black kohl pencil if you want extra definition.

If you fancy brightening up your lids with a shot of sparkle a la Tadashi Shoji, make sure you grab Beauty UK’s Glitter Eyeliner in Gold, £2.99, the glitter flecks are finer so it’s way easier to wear.

Finally, if you want to go for Herve Leger’s oh-so-chic brown smoky eyes, all you need is NARS Matte Eyeshadow in Sophia, £18. Give lids a light wash of colour then build up a stronger hue in the crease of the eyes to cheat definition.

Well that’s our eye inspo sorted, now all we have to do is decide which look to wear first!
