The Best Cream Blushers For Your Skin Tone

I can’t quite believe how long I wore powder blushers for. Too long, is the answer, because since trading in my go-to powder for a velvety cream formula I have been utterly converted.

But why go for a cream blush? Well, it’s simple really, being a lover of the natural look I’m always striving for makeup that, quite frankly makes it look like I’m not wearing any. Powder blushers, any powdery products for that matter, leave a light veil (of powder, duh) over the skin, which you tend to be able to see. So while you can get some really bright, pigmented colours, they can look a bit cakey.

Cream blushers melt into the skin and give your cheeks that wonderfully natural flush – the one you get when you’re a bit hot or flustered. Because they aren’t matte, they leave a gorgeously soft, dewy finish. Plus, you can easily apply them using your fingers and they double up as a lip colour, too.

Here are our favourite cream blushers for each skin tone, press into the apples of your cheeks for a gorgeous glow.

Best For Darker Skin

Bobbi Brown cream blusher in Chocolate Cherry

Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge For Lips And Cheeks in Chocolate Cherry, £19.50

Darker skin works well with deep shades of red and orange, so this is the perfect colour. The dual compact can be used on the lips, too.

Best For Medium Skin

Stila cream blush in Camellia
Stila Convertible Colour in Camellia, £16

My all-time favourite, Stila’s award-winning Camellia shade is also loved by model Rosie Huntington Whiteley and is a warm peachy colour.

Best For Pale Skin

BareMinerals cream blush in Posy

BareMinerals Pop Of Passion Blush Balm in Posy, £20

Lighter pinks work best for paler complexions. This blush balm contains seed oil and vitamin E which also make it is seriously hydrating on the skin – yay!
