Spring’s New It Hairstyle – The Tousled Bob

It’s official – the bob is back and it’s certainly here to stay! From Jennifer Lawrence and Sienna Miller, to Emma Stone and Emma Roberts, more and more celebrities are jumping on the bandwagon and getting the chic chop. But, fashions favorite hairstyle is taking a softer look for spring. In place of blunt, sharp edges are wavy strands and choppy ends. Welcome the TOB, or the WOB (tousled/wavy bob).

If you are looking to refresh your style in wake of spring, this should be your only hair inspo.

A straight, cleaner cut finish is super sleek, but can look harsh and is quite ageing. The TOB is youthful and effortlessly cool, without looking like you’ve really tried. Your hair wont look ‘done’, rather, as if you’ve just got out of bed, in a shabby chic kind of way.

The best part about the TOB is its simplicity – you can literally get the look in less than 10 minutes and a deep side parting, as seen on Emma Roberts and Rosamund Pike, is a quick way to instantly take your TOB from day to night.

Plus, it’s really low maintenance and if you’re hair has a natural wave or curl, you barely need to do anything at all. In the case of straight hair, equip yourself with some curling tongs, salt spray and hairspray.

Flip your head over and rough-dry your hair until it’s almost dry. While it’s still slightly damp, spritz salt spray through the lengths and, using your hands, gently scrunch your hair.

Once dry, take a curling wand, like ghd Curve and wrap random strands around the barrel to create beachy waves and texture.

Finish off by running your fingers through your hair to loosen the waves and finally, spray with hairspray.
