Space Buns Are Making A Major Comeback

We'll be wearing them all summer.

There’s nothing we love more than a ’90s revival, whether it be style, beauty or hair, because why wouldn’t we want to look like Gwen Steffani circa No Doubt. Remember last year when all the Kardashian’s started rocking those double buns. yep, they’re back and we are back to being obsessed.

Space buns, mini mouse buns – whatever you want to call them they are SO cute and pretty easy to do, plus they can take a normal outfit and a low key beauty look and catapult it into an awesome one. What’s not to love?

This week we’ve seen them cropping up all over our Insta feed with everyone from Poppy Delevingne to Mollie King rocking the buns at Coachella. They’ve taken over from flower crowns and plaits as the go-to festival hairstyle and tbh, we’re really happy about it. Considering how easy they are to create and how cool they look, we will definitely be sporting all summer.

To perfect your buns, part your hair down the centre and take one side of your hair brushing it upwards into a tight, high pigtail. You want to keep them pulled tight and have them sit right on the top of your head near the parting. Get creative, you can pull bits out around your face to channel more ’90s vibes, or do like Poppy Delevingne and braid the front sections.

Once you’ve secured your high pigtail start to twist your hair around into a bun shape. Secure with a clear elastic and some pins. Make sure you finish off with lashings of hairspray so your buns last the night. If you fancy going bigger, take some mini bun doughnuts and wrap your hair around them.
