Made In Chelsea’s Binky: “My Summer Beauty Essentials”

Made In Chelsea‘s season finale had us glued to our sofas last night – who knew life in SW3 was so dramatic? But now the season is over, and if – like us – you’re already getting withdrawl symptoms, don’t worry, because we caught up with our favourite Chelsea girl Binky for a good gossip about her Made In Chelsea co-stars and her hair and beauty secrets.

LOOK: Binky, now that you’ve wrapped up filming on
Made In Chelsea
, what are your plans for the summer?

Binky: I’m going to the No1 Boot Camp in Ibiza. It’s not exactly a holiday, but it’ll be good to see some sun. Then I’m hopefully going to Tuscany later in the summer!

LOOK: How do you prepare for a beach holiday?

Binky: I think it’s important to get a mani-pedi before going away – if you’re going to have your feet in flip-flops, you can’t have manky toes! For summer I’m all about bright neon nail polishes, they look great with a tan. Before going abroad, I’ll also have a spray tan and get eyelash extensions, because you don’t want to have to worry about re-applying mascara everytime you get out of the pool. I love Glo Salon in Fulham – I get my hair, nails, spray tan and eyelash extensions done there. It’s an all-in-one beauty stop!

LOOK: Do you have a favourite beach beauty look?

Binky: For my hair, I’m happy to leave it down and wavy. I’ll put it up into a little bun if I’m going swimming.

LOOK: What’s your go-to night-out party look?

Binky: A classic smoky eye always looks great and I love YSL Volume Effet Faux Cils Mascara, £23.50, for giving full, thick lashes.

LOOK: How do you get your make-up to really last?

Binky: Layering products is the best way to get long-lasting coverage. I start with MAC Prep & Prime, £19.50, then apply MAC Face & Body Foundation, £26.50, building it up for an even base. I finish with a dusting of powder to set.

LOOK: What are your top tanning tips?

Binky: I love St Tropez and Vita Liberata fake tans. For me, it’s all about preparation. I exfoliate the day before, then moisturise my wrists, elbows and knees to make sure the tan doesn’t cling to any dry skin. A great tip I’ve learned is to run cold water over your legs after you’ve shaved  them, to close the pores and prevent the tan from sitting in them, causing little dark spots.

LOOK: Do you have a strict skincare routine?

Binky: Yes, I start by taking off my mascara with Halo Eye Make-Up Remover Pads, £1.53. They’re amazing for getting rid of every last speck. I keep them in my handbag at all times, they’re so small and convenient. Then I’ll use Ponds Cold Cream Cleanser, £4.49, for the rest of my face – my mum and most of the other women in my family swear by it and they all have amazing skin. Finally I use No7’s Essential Moisture Day Cream, £9, and Night Cream, £9.95.

LOOK: What make-up tips have you learnt from
Made In Chelsea
?

Binky: Dust bronzer above your temples to make your face look slimmer – this actually really works!

LOOK: Let’s play an
Made In Chelsea
quiz…who out of your cast members has the best fashion sense?

Binky: Millie Mackintosh or Rosie Fortescue – they always look amazing.

LOOK: Best hair?

Binky: Definitely Jamie Laing! No one can really compete with his crazy hair!

LOOK: The best shoe collection?

Binky: Millie again – for sure. She always looks incredible.

LOOK: Who do you think has the best taste in boys?

Binky: Me, because I wouldn’t go out with any of them!
