There’s no denying that Kourtney Kardashian is looking seriously good right now.
The mum-of-three went through a pretty tumultuous year in 2015 after partner Scott Disick’s alleged fling came to light, but seems to have emerged looking stronger and more gorgeous than ever.
In fact, the 36-year-old seems to have taken inspiration from younger sister Khloe by hitting the gym and undergoing a total body transformation.
Not long after giving birth to third child Penelope, Kourtney switched her focus to fitness, stepping up her workout game and honing her body in a seriously impressive way.
And now, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star has revealed the real reason why she worked so hard to get into shape. Nope, not vanity, but to deal with her anxiety…
‘When I was pregnant with Reign [Disick], I knew that I was going to go hard at working out afterwards’, Kourt wrote on her website in a post titled ‘Coping With My Anxiety.’ ‘I couldn’t wait to feel strong and in shape again.’
She then went on to confess that exercise also helped to lift her mood. ”I didn’t know that I would be going through a breakup and just an overall crazy year’, she continued. ‘Everyone deals with hard times in their lives differently. I’m generally not a nervous person but I get anxious.’
‘I try to exercise 5 days a week’, Kourtney added. ‘My anxiety is always worse in the mornings so that’s when I schedule my workouts. I usually start with a quick run or jumping rope to warm up. I have to do something fast to really kill [my anxiety].’
We admire the star’s honesty when it comes to her body and wellbeing, and are super glad that she’s found something positive to help her through a rocky year.
Lastly, Kourtney shared: ‘People are very quick to judge others by appearance but you truly don’t know what someone’s motivation is or what is going on inside them. For me, exercise is as much about my body as it is about calming my mind.’
