Here’s How To Get Kim’s Look from the VMAs

The beauty breakdown straight from her make up artist.

The celebs were out in the masses on Sunday for the MTV VMAs, and while we spied some stunning makeup looks (Taylor Hill, we’re looking at you), it was glam queen Kim Kardashian that stole the show with her understated makeup and mermaid hair.

Wearing a sheer, black, figure hugging dress, Kim showed off her amazing new body which she’s managed to get through a pretty hard core diet and exercise regieme.

Kim kept her makeup pretty low key with a glossy nude lip, gold glowing highlight and a wash of gold on her eyes. She posted a picture of herself on her Instagram, captioning it: ‘Wet beachy glam last night #vmas’.

Her makeup artist, Mario Dedivanovic, posted the beauty breakdown on his Instagram, and he created the entire look using Laura Mericier.

Mario said his inspiration for the beach beauty came from his recent holiday to Hawaii and called it a ‘soft summery look’. When it comes to makeup, less is definitely more and this is one look we will be stealing.

On Kim’s skin, he used the Candleglow Soft Luminous Foundation, £35, in Maple and the Laura Mercier Face Illuminator, £32, in Addiction and Devotion.

On her eyes, he kept it soft and shimmery with the Caviar Stick Eye Colour, £23, in Sand Glow and used the Velour Lovers Lip Colour, £22, in Sensual on her lips.

Her beach babe look was finished off perfectly by her messy, wet-look hair, which was created by stylist Michael Silva.

While we’ve seen Kim sporting the wet look before she usually wears it sleek and slicked back, but we love the softer, boho style. Kim’s hair stylist didn’t post a breakdown of how to get the look, so we’ve had a go at recreating the just-stepped-out-the-sea style.

Curly girls, run some hair gel through your hair while it’s still wet, we like Maria Nila’s Style & Finish Styling Cream, £14.99, a mousse will also give you a similar effect.

If your hair is naturally straight, curl it first, or put it into two plaits, then run some mousse through it, scrunching it as you go. I think we can all agree that this look is much easier than some of her others, so give it a go and let us know how you get on!
