It’s Official, 80s Hair Is Back Thanks To Jean Paul Gaultier

Jean Paul Gaultier’s final ready-to-wear collection was always going to be pretty spectacular, but we didn’t realise quite how much of a show we were in for. With the iconic designer announcing his decision to focus purely on Haute Couture, he gave his last RTW show a pagent-themed twist. Supermodels such as, Coco Rocha, Karlie Kloss and Joan Smalls took to the catwalk in hopes of being crowned ‘Miss Jean Paul Gaultier’, and while Coco went home with the crown (that was before she *fainted* from happiness – yes really), we saw some pretty ah-mazing looks throughout the whole show. One hairstyle we can’t seem to stop thinking about is the mega-sized manes sported by Karlie Kloss and co. So we’ve decided to dig out our backcombing brush, those big barrell tongs and our classic 80s anthems playlist, and take our hair to new heights a la JPG.

The trick to recreating sky-high hair is to go for a deep-set side parting, then back brush your roots for extra oomph. Add some waves with the BaByliss Volume Waves Tong, £20, and finish with a spritz of hairspray – try Label.m Extreme Hold Hairspray, £13.50, for body that’s guarenteed to stay put no matter what. There you have it, now you’re ready to hit the runway with fashion’s finest…
