Avada Kedavra all other palettes, we say.
It seems like every week there’s a new magical collection being churned out by some beauty company. We’ve seen Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella and even Star Wars inspired make-up collections, (we mostly have MAC to thank for these), so it seems strange that one of our generations most loved magical films has not been attempted to be made into some sort of palette. Yep, you guessed it, we’re talking about the wonderful world of Harry Potter, and it seems it’s not just our imaginations that have been running wild because someone has actually created four palettes, each one representing a HP house.
Take a look at them bellow…
Each palette is a house colour and is embossed with the corresponding animal. They also all come with a brush that looks like an old quill – cute right? So, you’re probably already thinking when and where can you get your hands on these bad boys. Well, the bad news is they’re not actually for sale as such because they don’t really exist * cries *.
Turns out the palettes were cleverly crafted on photoshop by Spellsandstars and posted on Reddit in a thread called MakeupAddiction. Reddit users were quick to give their opinions on the palettes, with some saying they would have made certain shades differently.
Spellsandstars wrote back, saying, “I appreciate everyone’s criticism but I didn’t make this with the intention of marketing a product, just having fun on Photoshop. If I were to actually sell this then the obviously reality is I would spend more time developing colors and shade names.” Personally we think the collection is pretty much on point and we’re getting all the feels for those shimmering shades.
The good news is, the creator has said she might look into getting them made for real, after getting such a positive reception. We’re keeping our fingers well and truly crossed, us muggles deserve a bit of magic!
