Kim K's flawless Met Gala look

Get Kim Kardashian’s Met Gala Beauty Look

Kim Kardashian’s make-up artist Mario Dedivanovic has spilled the beans on how he got Kim K red-carpet-ready for the MET Gala last night…

Compared to her bejewelled sheer Roberto Cavalli gown, Kim’s makeup was a more neutral affair, with nude glossy lips and golden shades around the eyes. Mario created the look using the gorgeous Marc Jacobs makeup, but the range isn’t widely available in the UK yet. Don’t worry though, because we’ve rounded up the best alternatives to cheat Kim’s flawless finish.

FACE

Used: Marc Jacobs Beauty Genius Supercharged Oil-Free Foundation

Alternative:
Clinique Stay-Matte Oil-Free Makeup, £22.50

If you’re prone to oily skin, then choosing a foundation can be tricky. This Clinique gel-cream controls oil breakthrough and absorbs any shine, whatever the weather Apply with your foundation brush and it’ll stay put all day long.

Used: Marc Jacobs Beauty Instamarc Light Filtering Contour Powder in Hi Fi Filter 60

Alternative:
Sleek Makeup Face Contour Kit

If there’s one celebrity known for their contouring skills – it’s Kim. Apply the contour powder beneath the cheekbones and along the sides of your nose. Once blended, highlight the apples of your cheeks and your nose, with one brush of powder from the bridge to the tip of your nose.

Used: Marc Jacobs Beauty Shameless Bold Blush in Shameless 220

Alternative:
MAC Cosmetics Powder Blush in Peach Twist, £18

Peachy blushes are a lovely update for spring; brush onto the apples of your cheeks, being careful not to apply too liberally – you want a gentle glow rather than a harsh block of colour.

EYES

Used: Marc Jacobs Beauty Style Eye-con No.7 Plush Shadow in The Dreamer

Alternative:
Maybelline Big Eyes Eyeshadow in Brown, £6.99

A great eyeshadow look is all about building different colours and tones, blending them all together. A brown smoky eye is always flattering, and can be worn during the daytime too. Apply tones right up to the brow line to achieve Kim’s look.

Used: Marc Jacobs Beauty Twinkle Pop Eye Stick in Au Revoir 406 & Frannie 408

Alternative:
Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick in Goldstone & Vanilla, £20

Cream shadow sticks are great for applying a quick wash of colour to the lids; Mario has applied the gold tones to the inner corner of Kim’s eyes, making them appear larger.

Used: Marc Jacobs Beauty O!Mega Lash Volumising Mascara in Blackque

Alternative:
YSL Volume Effet Faux Cils, £25

A volumising mascara tops off Kim’s eye makeup; a great volume mascara gives lashes length and volume, making the eyes appear wider and more ‘awake’. Apply lashes (sorry) of mascara for a greater effect.

LIPS

Used: Marc Jacobs Beauty New Nudes Sheer Lip Gel in Anais 146

Alternative:

Lancome Shine Lover Lipstick in 218 Beige Béguin

There’s no need for lips to be loud with this look; a glossy pout with a wash of colour is the perfect way to complete this neutral look.
