Are you a false tan fan?

Whether you like to give yourself a bit of a boost before a night out or can’t leave your house without a quick top-up, you’ll definitely have gone through a few bottles over the years.

But it turns out that where you’re based in the country could actually determine how much of a dedicated tanner you are.

So where IS the UK’s bronzing hotspot? Well, after watching the TOWIE cast parade around with their flawless glows, you may assume that it’s somewhere in Essex. But you’d be wrong.

According to Superdrug, the place most obsessed with the beauty product is actually… *drum roll* Liverpool!

Yep. It’s those lovely Scouser ladies who buy the most fake tan each year.

Essex is second on the list, with Basildon nabbing the silver medal. It’s followed by the residents of Manchester, Birmingham and Glasgow.

So our tan lovers are fairly spread out across the UK.

On the other end of the scale, girls from Exeter the most likely to stay pale and interesting. Well, we guess when you have those gorgeous Devon beaches to sunbathe on you don’t need the fake stuff…

Bristolians are the second most likely to shun the tanning mitt, with those from Brighton coming in third. Our capital city London is fourth and Cardiff rounds off the list in fifth place.
