There's one hairstyle that's been cropping up ALL over our instagram feeds recently, yep you guessed it, those much-loved boxer braids.
The school girl-chic plaits have built up a pretty strong celeb following with everyone from Zendaya to Hailey Baldwin (and even little North West) rocking them.
We can totally see the appeal, not only is it the perfect hairstyle to hide greasy locks and tame curly or afro hair, but the polished do' is also a great option for the gym - bye-bye frizzy baby hairs!
It's not just A-listers that are giving the look a go, just this week we spied boxer braids on the catwalk at New York Fashion Week (Kim K would be oh-so proud).
Models were sent down the runway at Creatures of the Wind's AW16/17 show, with the twin plaits - officially cementing the hairstyle's IT status…
So what's the difference between boxer braids and regular braids? Well boxer braids sit on top of the hair (like a dutch plait), but they are pulled tight like cornrows, and tend to start as close to the hairline as poss, in order to tame even those little baby hairs.
If you fancy giving the look a go we'd recommend straightening your hair first, after all if your locks are sleek they'll be much easier to plait into super-smooth braids. Add a little finishing gloss like Kardashian Beauty Black Seed Dry Oil (£11.50), through the lengths to minimise the appearance of any frizz or flyways. If you want to cheat a little extra length it's a great idea to add in some extensions first.
