Why Blurring Is Your Skin’s New BFF

If you’re after flawless, blemish-free skin that looks like it’s been filtered (it’s that perfect), then you might want to check out blurring.

A new beauty trend hailed from Korea, this technique promises to give you HD-ready skin that totally looks like it’s been airbrushed. And who wouldn’t want that?!

Blurred lips came first, but now it’s all about blurring your skin to give the illusion of ultimate smoothness. So, how did it start?

‘Korean women are finding that in the age of HDTV and up close and personal high-res selfies, your flaws can be clearly seen,’ Charlotte Cho, Korean beauty expert and co-founder of Soko Glam, told Marie Claire.

So, it’s better to ‘blur’ out your look a bit – using makeup and foundation to blur your blemishes, pores – but at the same time, keep it natural.’

The idea is to apply special blurring products that make your face look a little ‘cloudy’, and that eliminate dark sports, uneven patches and fine lines, without looking like you’ve caked your make-up on.

‘It’s not going to completely cover up that pimple, but it will hide it a bit, making you look bright and natural looking, but not flawless’, said Cho.
