Beauty Tried And Tested: The Best Facial Mists

Want to know the best refreshing sprays for tired complexions? Then Look’s very own Beauty Editor Sophie Beresiner and Look reader Amy Jenkins are here to help, as they’ve searched the high street to find the top four facial mists…

Beauty Editor: This gave my face quite a heavy covering, so it’s not good if you’re wearing dark eye make-up. But it’s perfect for calming any redness, as it feels very soothing.
Amy: This came out too heavily to spray over my make-up – I would have preferred a pump-action spray. But I used it on my legs after waxing and it felt really cooling. Beauty Score: 3/5

Beauty Editor: After a couple of spritzes, this made my skin look brighter, and the rosemary and mint scent really calmed me. I’ll keep this one on my desk at work as an everyday skin pick-me-up.
Amy: This product felt lovely and gave my skin a dewy appearance. A real bonus is that it’s very natural, so it feels kind to your skin. Beauty Score: 4/5

  • Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic Spritzer
Beauty Editor: This was super-refreshing and my skin felt thoroughly hydrated. It kept my skin looking radiant for hours and I loved the posh smell, too.
Amy: I liked that this could be used as both a body and a facial mist. The scent was subtle, but still refreshing. I’d use this again. Beauty Score: 5/5

  • Doux Me Neroli Blossom Mist
Beauty Editor: This had a cooling effect, but it smudged my make-up. It did stop my foundation looking too cakey, though, so it’s great if you want a more ‘worn-in’ look.
Amy: This drenched my face, so it’s not something I could use throughout the day. But I’d take it on holiday, as the zesty scent would be good for refreshing hot skin. Beauty Score: 3/5
